  • Wow, i wonder how much of life he remembers in such detail. Everything or select things only....

  • I wish i could draw that well with the picture in front of me.

  • What An amazing Gift ......

  • I am afraid that google will assasinate him because he is going to remove google earth from existence I can't say a word he can take over world art some one most stop him

  • wow

  • Absolutely the most fascinating thing I've ever seen! Wow!

  • what the shit

  • This gentleman is absolutely amazing! You go!

  • This guy doesn't need porn

  • bshit

  • He has a disease called hyperthymesia which allows someone to remember everything.

  • i dont think i can draw an empty room like that

  • wie ist der volle name dieses mannes?

    (german) pleace answerd

  • Why cant i have this, exams would be so much easier!! amazing video aswell

  • if he had no austim he would not have any limits

  • @D100J I don't think you understand, the reason he is capable of this is his autism. If he didn't have it he would not have his amazing talent.

  • @0megacloud than why is it considered a mental disorder?

  • @D100J It hinders him in all other areas but because his brain is different he is able to have this gift. He probably can't function well in normal situations but can remember it all perfectly. This comes from having an autistic brother.

  • @0megacloud that still does not solve the mystery. ive serached quite a lot at the web for autism and all of them

talk about something that happened to them which made'm have strong mental powers so the question will be how autism have anything to do with the mental power?

  • @D100J It's the same thing as blind people developing an amazing sense of smell or hearing. If one skill is not as good, others almost make up for it by improving.

  • @D100J - Your perception of a 'mental disorder' is the problem. It disables a part of him, but who says it doesn't enhance another? Wake up, things aren't always as the television tells us.

  • @D100J Autism is very wide. Autism goes to the point of Einstein!

  • I couldnt even have drawn my room, with the furniture and all.

  • I'm waiting for someone to say "OMG, i have PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY!"

  • @SavannahxSlam OMG, I don't have PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY!

  • I don't understand when people think Autism is a disability. Though most autistic people lack much social maturity, who cares? Most are genius. Having an autistic mind is a blessing not a curse.

  • @IcyHot311 Autism is known as a disability because it inhibits normal human functioning in the person afflicted with the disorder. For example, the man in this video experiences a myriad of problems (mostly social) because of Autism. His eidetic memory doesn't compensate that.

  • @ToaoRaj I know. I was saying, in my eyes, it isn't a disability.

  • Whenever I hear the word, The definition almost flashes in front of me, on a blank screen . Like transparent words... I Dunno lol..

  • Can someone tell me if this is photographic memory.

When Im learning new words, I dont actually read the definition, I just look at the page, almost in a zoning out kind of fashion and I let my peripheral vision read the words, but not actually reading them, just scanning over.

I tested my self last night with five words, I looked at the words for a total of 1-2 minutes, and 30 minutes later I still retained the definition and today, I still know what they mean. It's like.

  • @Q2IN2Y 2-3 days ago I saw a commercial about the navy, and I still remember the last still image of the commercial in detal. I remember a picture of a police car I saw 4 days ago, and I can draw (not a good sketch artist) A helicopter view of every house I've lived in over the course of my life ( About 8-9) different locations.

  • @Q2IN2Y No, that isn't eidetic memory. Anyone with a normal memory capacity can do what you're describing.

  • @ToaoRaj What about being able to draw aerial views of every house you've ever lived in since you were 8? Including every friends house. Furniture layouts, everything.

Because I can do that too.( not as great as him because he has artistic skill.. but I can.

    Is that edetic memory.

  • @Q2IN2Y Are you drawing the aerial views upon studying them or simply glancing at them once? Is it solely aerial views you're able to draw with precision?

But honestly, I don't believe I'd be able to quantify one's memory capacity through the internet, because people have a propensity to give fanciful details in order to mold themselves around a given condition to convince themselves/others they have it. I suggest seeing a professional to ease your curiosity.

  • @ToaoRaj I will probbaly see a professional. Well I don't know, the houses I've lived in are over a 16 year period, and I've moved about 11-12 times in my life so I have all these residences in my memory. I couldn't draw it with skill like this guy but I can see everything in my head upon request.

I can draw it from any perspective.... if I had the skill, I mean I can draw it but it won't look as nice as this guys.. but it will generally have the exact layout.

But I agree with ur point.

  • AMAZING

  • this only shows us what the brain is capeable to do...

  • and by the looks of your spelling, your brain is not capable of much...

  • @PersianKid100

Dude, what is you problem??? i find this video very interesting, and if you can't stand an ordinary comment, well, maybe you shouldn't be on youtube... gosh i hate 12 year olds...

  • it would be very beneficial to have this ability for students of university, sometimes i see a slide and then i wanna remember what was on there, but i just see blank in my head, nothing else, just blank

  • Awesome!!!

from BSN -IB, Catanduanes State Colleges..

  • This is the sort of thing that had me totally confused about what I was and lead to me not figuring it out until I was 49. I'm Autistic too & can't see a darn thing in my head but vague wisps of color & I have to work hard to see that! Got lost finding my way across the street from the Post office to the ice cream shop! I am like Donkey on Shrek, talk a lot! Memorize words easily, write book length fanfiction just for fun. There are different types, folks! I also understand metaphors just fine!

  • i bet he had to look at it a couple times

  • People are all just different directions of thought.

  • wow

  • here is my theory

if Hippocampus could be removed / or slowed down. a normal person can achieve

    autism.

    what do u think ?

  • when i get high i get more autistic

  • This is human evolution.

And this is also a smack in the face to any white supremacist or any racist people.

  • Amazing.

  • simply amazing. wow

  • yup the human brain is pretty interesting

  • this is so sick

  • but no abandoning art might kill me so no i am happy. social life would stil be nice.

  • im an artist and very unsocial. actually i havent talked in 5 years to anyone except my parents and siblings and im NOT autistic. and it really feels like im reaching a different state of mind whether im in drawing mode or talking. talking feels surficial and when im not talking everything is a thought or feeling thats why its hard for me to talk to my family. its hard to put an impusle into words. social people have it good and are luckie.

  • @krillsinmakup Hmm... Try walking around town for a while.. wait for people to talk to you. in fact, GO TO places where people talk to you. Continue so for like 2 years..

trust me. you'll feel better. Just persevere, it's worth it =D

  • this is ridiculous. i give up on my life. lol

  • this is absolutely phenomenal, autism and such disabilities should not be ridiculed at all, this guy is AMAZING

  • Google should hire him to manage Google Maps

  • @Kelthire LOL! that's a good one

  • There are 2 types of intelligence. One's spacious intelligence and photographic memory... Spacial intelligence is common like how you can learn or memorize songs, books maps(etc). The other kind of intelligence is really rare like the video you just watched... This guy is really incredible.

  • @havocscooter Their more types of intelligece....

  • incredible.

  • I have an photographic memory i remember my first time in nursery things relating to my childhood and more but i don't remember everything i have to say.

  • I do not have Austism but I have photographic memory.I can recall each page of any book, replay a music in my mind over and over again till I can sing...Also learn map, circuit and softwares in very less time.

  • i have phto graphic memory but i have no autism

it probaly take me 4-6 days to memorize the whole map

  • @EXTREMExxGAMER I have a very slightly eidetic memory myself, I remember images but forget dates and use it in debates to invoke past contradictions someone has made on their own theory.

  • THIS IS WAKO

  • The guy in the video just looked at things and remembered them. "Normal" people are the ones that are hard to figure out. I can't count the number of times I've seen 2 people engaged in social interaction, and not notice anything around them. They can be standing in front of a doorway (a big hole knocked in a wall for people to go through) and not see it. A 3rd person will walk up and say, "excuse me," and they will respond to the social cue and move. They could have taken 2 steps to begin with.

  • @mflolovesme Yes.. xD

  • Comment removed

  • i wish humans could control this :l

  • @FreakedKiddi That's be awesome :p

  • The real question is.. does autism grant this sort of spectacular ability, or does autism take away something else that is normally blocking this sort of spectacular ability? My money is on the second possibility.

  • @pfarabee well the truith is not all autistics have this ability

also i do see it as a gift in this mans case it is trully amazing

  • @pfarabee People with autism have parts of their nervolougic brain cells malefunctioning... And in this dude's case, It lets him concentrate and remember high details of what he sees... So, I'd say he's just one lucky bastard.. (Considering he's condition... )

  • @pfarabee I'm pretty sure it's the second one too... Kids tend to have better visual memory after all, but once they grow up and learn concepts and language... They tend to rely more on audio memory...

  • my daughter haves asperger's child , mild, high functioning autism. she is pretty average with school academics. she is pretty acurate with certain things i don't expect her to be. i am waiting for her genius to come out. i know it's there just waiting. she likes things that are awkward to me and repeats them like a million times..i need help , more patience. sometimes i just don't get her...i love her and want the best for her.

  • @millievip millie, don't put too many expectations on her. and do your best to parent her properly.

thats all you can do, ideally.

  • this is fucking inccredible

  • who we think a autistic is the real genius, we normal people can't just understand them that's why we keep making them look they are no brainer.. well in fact the true autistic is US who don't understand their abilities! no normal or below normal person can do what he can do.. even a what we call genius can't do it either i think..

  • @xtcy19 You said normal person... Could you tell me what a normal person is?

.. Let's say that an alien came to earth.. We'd all look a like to them.. Freaks.. Simple as that ;p

  • awesome! I wish i had that drawing on my wall in my room.

  • Daaaamn, that's just scary!! :O But still cool

  • his a good drawer who cares about the memory part he draws really well

  • if the autistic person can find his ability and feel comfortable with it they are able to hyperfocus on that one ability with tremendous skill!! so amazing! the evolution of brain.. however, our bodies are being ignored :P

  • Do autistic people tend to draw really well like that too?

  • @hhhstar my son draw bacteria, cell , brain, anatomy of human so good , he also can name any parts too, since he study in the medicine books. the back of his tests and his books are full. my son is almost 8, when he was 3 he use to draw pre-historic fishes .i guess every aspie child have a gift.

  • Amazing..

If i had this kind of memory, i don't even need to study for exams and memorize any formulas..

  • I don't care what society thinks, Autism is cool.

  • @JohnRichard1991 It's also hard to live with, isn't it?

  • @JohnRichard1991it's another style of brains :)

  • @JohnRichard1991 its cool?....dude, let me tell you a fucking true every day story, i have a autism brother and he fucked my life with his talent of mastering any instrument he likes,at school he stole my friends and now they look down on me as a loser, i was a very cool guy in the school, but then they saw his talent and his smile and even though it was a retarded smile they liked him....they ignored me and listened to him....they protected him they even walked him home...and i was left alone.

  • @ivanster2 Don't blame him, that's self centered and selfish, he can't control his talents and by the sounds of it doesn't know the social repercussions.

  • @ivanster2 you should be happy for your brother even though he may have more fame then you, you should appreciate him. Its not like everyone is popular anyways

  • @ivanster2 Maybe your treated like shit because you have this kind of attitude. Why can't you just be happy for your brother? He has a very interesting talent. I wouldn't like that if I were you either, but he can't help it. I don't know why he would purposly take your friends, maybe your "friends" are just fucking jerks. Find some good friends.

  • @JohnRichard1991 69 thumbs like, you've made my day.

  • this is insane

  • holy sh&t. that's the most incredible story i've ever seen/heard. GO STEVEN!!! :)

  • Amazing.

  • wow

  • I'll probably remember a cat walking across the street. FML.

  • I bet it took him a lot of training and practice to be able to do all of that...

Even if someone is gifted they would still have to find their strong points and work on them into skills that would be of their advantage......

Great work this guys does it's almost magic...

  • it doesnt take much training man. these guys are called savants for a reason.

  • @NinjaChampionKO

He doesn´t have to practice anything.

He is an autist and autists memorize everything, even the not important things. He is born with it and he doesn´t have to practice it.People who are not autists can´t get a photographic memory.

  • I have a form of Autism too so don't be condescending to me when talking about something that I have.......

  • @NinjaChampionKO

Well then you should know that practice is not required to get a photographic memory.

  • @mago1094

    I concur..

  • Photographic memory is not limited to autistic individuals. Normal humans with no noticeable mental deficiencies can have eidetic/photographic memory.

Also, one cannot assume that those with photographic memory are born with the ability with not have to practice to remember something photographically. Those with autism might actually have to play the picture in their heads a couple times while soaking in other scatters of information. They are not memorizing computers, nor are they robots.

  • That is absolutely astonishing! The amount of detail he put into the buildings is insane - I doubt an artist could have done it half as well if they were staring at it for days!

  • i wish i had that kind of memory

  • @rossideen you really do not want that kind of memory

  • @seriall1337 I hate when people like you say that bullshit. There is nothing wrong with a photographic memory and eidetic memory. You do not have to have autism either. All people who have autism are not savants. All people who are a savant do not have autism. The lame excuse "we are not machines, robots, computers" is just complete bullshit. If everybody in the world had photographic memory or eidetic memory it will be a much better place. The same thing goes with the other mental talents.

  • That's amazing. Go Steven!

  • Just shows the POTENTIAL that we ALL possess. We just have to figure out how to express it!!

  • aww it's so cute how proud he is of it :)

  • He classifies as a autistic savant

  • Really want to know it? You have to be RETARD!!!weöööö

  • Im greedy, Im not autistic.

How can i gain this ability. What causes the mind to take note of such detail?

  • I thought people with a photographic memory had to see thing's a few times before they can "make a picture" of what they saw. This is increadible..

  • thats so inspriring but now i rlly feel dumb

  • damn that means my brain has disabilty's and all of your brains have disability's we are not able to use our full brain capacity but some how this guy managed to crack it

  • heh, you're wrong :O

Even he can't use all of it.. If he could, then he'd remember everything 100% accurate and in even more details. Our brain is quite ,,,, boring tbh....

  • then what explains our brain's why cant we remember like him

  • because we are too focused on what happens around us. Like, who to talk to,what to do, why your GF wants you to tan, etc etc... and we can't get the details like him. Since he's social brain is "dead"... He can focus on just what he sees, hears or does.

  • very cool

  • So if he don't have a social brain, does that mean he don't care about other people? The only thing he care about is drawing?? Sorry, but I'm really confused...

  • @pat123997 his social brain isn't dead i can't believe u said that

  • @Nouri8885 ... Then you should read up on autism.. It isn't DEAD as in not functioning at all... It is so powerfully redused that it is called "dead". I wish it wasn't so. But there are other cases where the symptoms of autism is look a like. But because their social brain is more active, and then they cannot recreate minor details like people with autism. I'm sorry to say, but this is a fact...

  • @pat123997

This man's social memory is not "dead" he is able to shake hands with his sister and notice her presence.

I would agree with you that autistics find it more difficult to socialise than non autistics, and for many it causes many concerns although social skills can be acted and by the time they are adults they can have some friends and communicate with them,

there are others however that are in a trance like state and dont notice anything, these are the minority

  • @Nouri8885

That's kind of what I ment by "dead",, notice the """""" ;p

Just to make it simple.. Anyways, yeap you're right :)

  • @pat123997 As the legendary fictional character Sherlock Holmes once stated "The mind is like an attic, most people clutter their attic with any old furniture they happen upon but a careful man only puts what furniture his mind-attic that he would deem necessary.

  • @pat123997 It's not "dead", It just is under developed, I know I have Autism

  • @pat123997 There's a helmet which I've heard about that is able to temporarily shut down certain areas of ones brain and allow normal people to become autistic. It sends a magnetic pulse to the "shut down". Check it out :)

  • @WilliamEGD hmm, sounds intresting.. can you send me a link to where you read about it?

  • @pat123997 keep your personal stuff to yourself... I dont care if your gf wants you to tan ur pale ass

  • @JoeJamison12 keep the fact that you can't get a gf to yourself... I don't care if you're a sad geek wishing to be as awesome as this guy

  • @pat123997 I thought that the part that the avarage brain uses for social things he uses for other things.

or was that your point? xD

  • @pat123997 My brother knows what he is and what he can do and since my reply to JohnRichard1991 is clear let me tell you a little more, my brother is popular around the school in a amazingly nice way, he is treatede like a king there, and i am treated like a fuck, he took my friends and tells them to chase me after school and beat me if i say shit about him, its not cool and its not funny...its only FUCKED UP having a autism brother, even my mother loves him more and my dad leaves me alone too..

  • @ivanster2 well, you really do sound like a bitching whimp, no wonder you got unpopular if that's been your attitude all along. stop whining, be proud of your brother, and go work on your own talents and accomplishments, for fuck sake - instead of wasting everybodys time, being obviously jalouse. Autism IS fascinating and shows the potential of mankind, but almost always brings along some sort difficulties. He's probably shunning you because you do the same.

  • Thats right.

  • I bet the guy has a huge trouble communicating well and stuff...

But i wonder if its possible to have both worlds.

  • WOW, this guy would prove very valuable for my next bank robery...lol

  • be so boring being the camera man sitting there filming for 3 days.

  • it tells us that he's a machine ........

  • Umbeleivable, that is just incredible !!

  • this is SO amazing!

  • NO WAY

  • awsome

  • what a fail comment

  • yeah...you are very right...what an epic fail..

  • that was kinda embarrasing

  • I have a better ability than even you, NOT believing in God and believing in science and logic over imaginary friends.

  • Finally an atheist :D

  • WOW

  • very very girfted. autism his gift, his curse.

  • Yes, everyone PLEASE ignore gregjockca22! He's posted on other Autism posts, and all that comes out is smack. Carry on, brothers!

  • He's 33 and he spends every minute of his day on the computer.

  • Don't listen to gregjockca22, he's a troll, ignore him.

  • one of my family members has autism, but he's veyr bright, and a genius with computers.

  • amazing.. i wish i had this skill for tests :(

  • hes the new google maps >:)

  • now color it! >=0

  • wow!

    He is amasing !

    I love his work!

  • Hah, I cant believe he actually drew the colosseum, I remember drawing it once (for school) on paper by having a picture of it next to me, even in that position I felt like giving up any second, its so complicated with all the holes and windows/passages..but this guy made it all perfect..amazing.

  • I can pretty much look at one thing for 2 secs and memorize it as a picture in my head and hold it for about 20 minutes and it looks just the way it was. Sometimes I can memorize things and zoom in the details but that take a bit more practice. I'm an artist and I use this ability to memorize things for drawing later. Maybe it is not photographic memory but it's very useful.

  • that...that is cool

  • HOLY SHIT! WOW! That is FUCKING amazing!

  • I like people with autism..they are so sweet and innocent and easy to be around. It's like haning around a waterfall--so peaceful!

  • that is amazing!

  • Understand, Steven Wiltshire is a Savant, not all autistics have this ability. Aspies for instance, tend to gather an immense amount of information on a narrow topic.
