It feels like he's trying too hard. Also, it feels a bit too streamlined, Antmusic owes its charm and power to the powerful drums and the heavy (albeit a bit "off" sounding) guitar riffs. You can't turn that into a standard pop song without simply and plainly making it bland.
Here you see what happens when a pop singer (a good one, RW ain't a bad singer) streamlines a song that lives off being anything but streamlined. It sounds bland.

Are you kidding? Robbie Williams doesn't have a "bad" voice, per se, but it's unrecognizable. It's not unique. It's...boring. When you hear Adam Ant's voice, you KNOW it's him.
I applaud Robbie's attempt at this cover. But OH MY GOD is it awful.
