  • @slake521 said yes, very exciting stuff

  • b?? si???? facing the floor = someone like you.

  • That interviewer guy said "sonically" like three times. Ahahaha nice

  • Comment removed

  • 'sonically i like this record'.. wow

  • "Needless to say I got laid that night" LOL

    Oh Caleb, he's amazing.

  • I love Kings of Leon. ALL of their albums are good. Their just wonderful musicians. I can't wait for their next album!

  • the lead singer is freakin hott

  • yep Caleb is a hottie

  • definatley

  • caleb is gorgeous :)

  • "sonically i love this record...." what a wank stain!

  • haha "wank stain" I'm stealing that

  • HAHAA!!! Radiohead got him laid....as if he needed help :P

  • kkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!

  • you could see nacho setting up in the background, i love that dude!

  • Haha I love how nathan and caleb just took over the interviews, they didn't even put the camera on matt!

And seriously, how many times could that interviewer say "sonically"

  • nikezoom - u cant say that kol hav gone from hero 2 zero in one album cause only by the night dominated the album charts and because of the times has possibly there best evr songs on it with the likes of charmer, on call, ragoo, arizona.. kol are all about the music and they will continue to produce incredible music for years to come

  • how could you not mention fans!? lol, i have to agree that because of the times is probably their best but if it weren't for fans i probably never would've got in to this AMAZING band

  • i was just mentioning the songs that wouldnt hav been heard as much as the likes of fans... i dont think they actually have a bad album.. cant wait for the next one

  • i have been listening to them sine youth and young manhood, but id ont think im a better fan because someone started listening to only by the night.

    aha shake is my fave.

  • definitely agree.

and aha shake heartbreak is the best

  • love KOL

allow the fidgeting in the background!!

  • take it easy man, its a great record adored by millions of fans. and arrogance?? hmmm, an arrogant rockstar...thats unheard of!!! if you dont like it fair enough, but dont come on here preachin your 'im a depressed little complainer with nothing better to do' attitude. save it for your weekly discussin group of other music lovers who could'n make it...leave the comments to the fans...kings forever.

  • nikezooms: look how cool i am! I like these guys so much that now that their already large audience has expanded I've decided I no longer like these guys cause johnny down the street just discovered them.

  • right on man

  • Kol are not mainstreamers but the fans are making them mainstream i say Red Morning Light ftw , but fucking if you like kings of leon for sex on fire then you can just die of aids tbh

  • who gives a fuck if there mainstream or not , there a critically acclaimed band with many accolades from so many talented artist, they've been around for 5or so years released 4 awesome albums, they rocked live at glastonbury 08, enuff said

  • Kings of leon didn't go mainstream! (I don't know about the rest of the world, but sadly, in the USA, mainstream is Nickleback & Daughtry bullshit). I think they've just evolved. There are "pretty" songs on Youth & Young Manhood, just like there is throbbing rockers on Only by the Night. REAL fans love them no matter what, so long as it's good.

  • 'scuse me... if ur sayin Only By Thr Night isn't mainstream, you're a tool. Mainstream isn't necessarily a bad thing, but this is a rock/pop record and if u disagree, my goldfish has a higher IQ. xxx

  • No, Mainstream in general isn't a bad thing-look at Nirvana or Bruce Springsteen, etc, but the mainstream roack radio right now kinda sucks.

  • Wow, you seriously need to immediately off yourself for total lack of brainpower...lol

  • Your a legend

  • This ALWAYS happens when somebody likes a band before they "hit the mainstream" - the person starts criticising the new work of the band and then they start criticising and whinging about the opinions of the new fans who now like the band that only yesterday, weren't so big and had a "different" sound. Personally, I have all the Kings Of Leon albums and I love this new record, in fact it's my favourite so far! I think the only difference in their sound now is that they have grown up a little!

  • Thankyou! Bravo...you've said everything that is personally winding me up something terrible as a 'new fan'. Incidentally I'm a new fan, because I only recently started listening to any music again after a lot of years. Ok, so I got hooked on their last track. But I like it less now. I now own all their albums, and I adore everything, not just the new stuff. My fave is the second album, btw. But alas, you will always get the 'I loved them to start with, so I'm a better fan' kinda snobbery.:(

  • I hate their new sound, what happened to the aha shake heartbreak days, what happened to the youth and young manhood days?

  • Bands change, that's what happens. Sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad. In this case, it was good change. OBTN is an incredible album. If you want the Aha Shake Heartbreak sound, go back and listen to that album.

  • yes true, but in one interview i recall matt and jared saying that the original fans (youth and young manhood time) must suck it up if you ill and accept the change in music.

I myself believe that their first two albums were just amazing compared to their new songs, but their new album is still very good.

I love the new and the old, but I prefer KOL's old albums.

  • adding to wat wardy said

    they should have put their

    b-sides beneath the surface

and frontier city. i think tht

would have helped the cd but i

still love it to bits!! :D

  • whoooooooooooop

    KOL!

we're seeing them in March :D

    xx

  • i think it would be as good as th other albums if it had two more proper rock songs like crawl. cos its only got 11 tracks on it. bt prt frm tht its gd

  • how can any1 say only by the night is trash, i love it as much as any of the other albums

  • ok that's your opinion but I, many critics, and fans alike know that Kings can and have done better than that album.

  • Only By The Night is sadly trash compared to their last three. I miss the good Kings Of Leon!!

  • I wouldnt say its trash, but yeah same, theyve gone abit mainstream.. But i still love them ;D

  • I agree trash is a strong word, so I'll just say not as good.

  • i miss your mam

  • drunkslash this is where people become ignorant with music..im not dissin you but dude its about the music, not the image who gives a damn about if he shaved his beard or cut his hair

  • they've got quite alot of interesting lyrics on it like "the black guy with the gift down below" or "knocking down the door with rhytem and rhyme"

  • its "black cat" ;)

sounds a lot like guy tho.. haha

  • oh right....thanks. i wish it was guy

  • I agree that it grows on you - I think that they've just got such an infectiious sound that that happens no matter. But the playing and the lyrics are just not nearly as interesting as before - what happened to "she saw my comb over etc - she'll loan you her toothbrush and bartend your party" - instead we get two words like "call me" (that was the start of it) or Sex on fire - or "use somebody"I'm not saying it sucks - but I definitely find it way less interesting.

  • exactly 100 percent agree with u hopefuly this trend does not continue n im speaking 2 the true KOL fans not the bandwagon jumpers when i say this but when u look at the ways things are going how can it not? it started at on call a little less obvious a little more commercial appeal, now with sex on fire a lot more obvious a lot more commercial appeal a lot less interesting. so far on call and sex on fire are still great but how long til they make another album which sounds like stuff like "17"

  • apparently im one of the few americans that have loved KOL since their first record, but anybody who listened to the first record non stop for a years after it came out like i did, of course you're a lil upset that they kinda went commercial. they're RC changed their look beyond recognition, i thought i'd die before Nathan shaved his beard completely off and Caleb would have short hair(jared and matt for that matter too)..

  • I really love this band alriight - but i really can't agree with this - I think the other albums sound so much better - this one doesn't feel bigger to me it's somehow smaller. it seems to me it's dumbed down deliberately.

  • it's definitely not as instantly catchy as the other 3 albums, but it really does grow on you after awhile. I think it's cool that they chose to do somethin a little different. I don't want them to lose their edge alltogether though. Hopefully the next album will rock out again.

  • i agree with you. except i've listened to the album a bunch and it hasn't yet grown on me. I miss the other stuff.

  • Have to see them live!! Love this band!!

  • Aye? that ain't nacho you tortilla!!!.. It's hamburger man.

  • ha ha nacho in the back working hard!!!

  • yes way!

  • Hey thanks for this.
