i remember this song when i was little, my grandma used to sing it to me. i will always think of her when i hear this song! thanks for posting this!! i will always love you grandma, love kimbo
Too bad for anybody to feel the need to be just a Teddy Bear, but then that's all a part of our life @ 1 time or another......thank u 4 posting....phyllis
My mother used to sing this to me, I never knew what it meant until I was grown, but everytime I'm feeling low I listen to this song, I don't know why, but it always makes me feel better!
Barbra Fairchild Diner We had agreat time in Branson, went to see Barbra & Roys show. it was great I got to sing teddy bear on stage with her,I don't think Roy liked me much, but oh well it was a great time !she is a great lady, (Roys cool too) its a fun show you need to go see. My dad , Mother & Father in law loved it also. Check it out when you are in Branson. Razhog1
Cute little song, isn't it! 1 hit wonder for Barbara in the top 40. Hit #1 country, #32 pop in Billboard. God bless, Barbara! Now, she's singin' for the Lord!
Many of these great country songs in the 70s were so good that they crossed over on the pop charts, and that's where many younger listeners heard them first!
She pulled my grandfather up on stage in Branson and he had to sing this song with her on stage. Every time I hear this song, I think about Papaw. It was a sad day when he died as everybody that knew him really loved him.
She selected me out of the audience in the seats to give a hug to, I have no earthly idea why, maybe the tenderness I have always felt for her some how showed. In a few years previous she lived about three blocks from us about 2 years into my marriage with my wife, she used to sing in local worship services. Some of the same other ladies of country would come into town also., Lovely lady, also in song, thank you for adding your comments,
I just LOVE this Song. I first heard it way back in 1974 when I was sixteen years of age and had my first car. Whenever I hear it my mind and my heart go right back to those happy days.Isn't Barbara Fairchild a Sweetheart? There's only one word that describes this Song - "Fluffy!"
livingadream2 hon, maybe i'm not to with it today, but I don't get your hint. What Song would you like me to perform? Are you the Brooks woman who was fortunate enough to record a CD?
Usually when someone "loves" a song and it sticks with them, they usually sing it...the hint was maybe you should post a video of you doing it. Sorry, I am not Darlene Brooks, she's a friend that I thought I would post to let others hear her music.I just think it is so nice that there are so many talented people out there that are sharing their talents with us on YouTube!

Just heard this song connected to someone who collects Teddy Bears and
did a sweet video of her bears to this song and posted it to YouTube.
I wanted to hear the lyrics, so went looking and found them and Ms. Fairchild.
Now, reading all the comments, it seems she was quite the Lady. Lovely
voice, tender heart, I'm sorry to read that she died. Condolences to her
family. I'm positive Ms. Fairchild is much missed. Thank you for the song.
