@PurebredLondon The majority of hounds that go to Spain etc are sold from both Britain and especially Ireland. There is simply no proper system in place to follow every dog from whelp to the grave. Yes they now have DNA testing (as well as tattoo, mc). However they go through hands so rapidly that that Shelbourne winner that earned you a few quid before Christmas could be hung from a tree in Spain a few months later when he didn't catch a rabbit. And NOBODY is held accountable.

I know of a neighbour who trained his hounds by blooding. He would catch a wild rabbit then cut a tendon or break a leg before training his youngstock on it. I have no doubt that still happens among other foul play.
