  • 3:33 yes the rest of the video is him dieing.

  • I've NEVER noticed this....IS THERE A WOMAN STRAPPED TO ZEROMUS EG'S BODY??!?......Weird O_o

  • smart setup. Holy absorbing armor plus a sword that casts holy, right?

    Useful for healing.

  • how do u even fight zeromus EG?

  • yeah whats with the random 9999 damage?

  • Good death animation. I bet your players were just standing there like "Any time now..."

  • how come zeromus eg takes 9999 damage out of a sudden?

  • @sasukestk

Because the GBA version was easy. A "single character 'challenge'" is almost guaranteed to be easier than normal games because you've got one godly character not being hit by anything and dropping everything in one hit.

The GBA version is notorious for being unfathomably easy.

  • @SirFuzzi What about the DS version? I've started over 3 times and I still can't beat Cagnazzo or whatever his name is.

My characters are at a decent level, because I've been grinding like crazy...

The problem is that you get pathetic amounts of gil from selling items and killing enemies, so I can't afford antidotes, eyedrops, potions or ethers...

  • @NingyoAijin

Contrarily, the DS version is renowned for being mercilessly and unforgiving. Patience is required-- lots and lots of patience.

As for Cagnazzo, make sure to go full-salvo with spells. You don't need to cut corners; try and drop him as fast as possible. You'll want Palom to have -aras, of course, and Tellah should be using -agas. The rest should heal when needed.

I believe it's when his water barrier is UP that you want to Thundara/ga. Otherwise, USE BLIZZARA/GA.

  • @SirFuzzi Thanks for the advice :3

    Much appreciated.

Is it worth it to use Twincast in that fight?

I think the main problem is the status changes he uses. Especially that goddamned Slow...

  • @NingyoAijin

No, Twincast's main function is to provide powerful attacks against enemy groups. It does little enough against single bosses that it shouldn't be used. Besides, Porom's your healer-- with her MP and turns being eaten like that, you're sure to see it reflected in dead characters left and right. Make sure, again, that you're using Blizzard spells when his water wall is down, and Thunder spells when it's up.

If you stick to this, it SHOULD go smoothly...

  • @SirFuzzi Alrighty then... Sorry for all the questions, but should Yang be equipped with Ice or Thunder claws?

  • @NingyoAijin Thunder, for the most part unless you fight thunder or fire then use ice.

  • @sasukestk yeah how?

  • @theluckyone18 as in like at first?

  • wow, i actually think cecil could be invincible

  • @Hihoho4 ohhhhh tnx

  • lol long death

  • how do u have edward lol ^_^

  • Random 9999 Damage?!

  • Wow, how did this guy get so easy!? Oh wait, he isn't using Big Bang every other turn like he did for me >_> Big Bang> Drainx2>Big Bang>Osmosex2>Big Bang>Game Over is what happened to me. Regular Zeromus did a very similar thing, Big Bang every other turn.

  • suks they dont hav this guy 4 the DS

  • What is Zeromus EG ?

  • Secret boss.

  • But only on the GBA version right ?

  • Yes.

  • Hey, I just noticed the "Z Button: Options" thing for the Game Boy Player. Does that mean that this game is for Game Boy Advance?

  • that was so luck when cecil was down to 2hp and holy reflected back onto him and he absorbed it

  • y did zeromus getting hurt 9999 at random?

  • Heh, full dragoon party is fun too, if you time the jumps right (as in: everyone at once) all of Zeromus' attacks miss because there's nobody left to target, everyone's in the air.

Works on most bosses, even Exdeath in FF5. His first 'double attack' would miss because the entire party is gone, the second misses because he couldn't target anyone last set of attacks.

Which is probably how i keep beating every boss without using any items XD

  • couldve just equiped avenger sword instead of pressing A button

  • I think the reason he didn't equip the avenger sword was so that it would cast holy against Zeromus EG, therefore allowing him to do consistent damage and still be able to heal himself when Zeromus EG puts reflect on himself.

  • you play nintendo Gamecube adaptateur GBA (little windows up)

  • ty cptn. obvious....

  • Cecil Rlz !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he RUELS... not rlz

  • Ni RUELS, ¬¬ es Rules abreviado a Rlz... u_u y yo escribo como qiero...

  • I'm sorry.... I don't speak your lingo.

  • Lingo? hahaha LOL only you know you "lingo" haha

  • Only you can whore.

  • rules*

  • fails*

  • if you say so ^_^

  • Although I don't have a video of it, I beat him solo with Edge. It's only a little hard, sadly.

  • Cecil's the man, he can take down anybody by himself.

  • @fmthebaron Unfortunately, he sucks in Dissidia... Kain's supposed to be better in Duodecim though...

  • Yeah, but this is also safe to say you got all the Grimoires and the Hero's Shield. I did it without those, but I had to use all 5 peoples.

  • what armour u wear in this battle ?

    nice vid ;)

    please answer

  • This just proves that the gba version is like 300 times more simple than the ps version. theres no way cecel alone could ever hope to defete Zeromus, let alone a super powered version. which brings me to another point. it would not need a super powered version if it wasnt so damn easy. case closed.

  • Straight badass lmao I'd prefer Edge over Edward though. Final fantasy 4 will always be my favorite. sigh lol

  • I've never played the GBA version, only Snes, does edge not join your party?

  • in GBA version, total of 10 members (Classic 5+Parom/Porom/Yang/Edward/Cid) are playable at the end. Tellah/FuSoYa are not included.

  • god...took it long enough to die...

  • That is because it is a superboss (thank Final Fantasy Wiki) with 200,000+ HP.

  • I found him alot easier then the normal Zeromus tbh all he has is hp over his normal self once you've done the place

  • I think evilanimemonkey meant the death animation took long enough... Lol, 1:10 seconds long death. :P

  • yep! :P

  • Ok. curious. I have this for GBA i've beaten it for SNES, and the GBA so many times. NEver did the this fight though. Still doing the character trials. How is it that his Earthquake,Lightning and Holy heal you?..

  • wtf edwards in ur party...?

    but then again i don't play the GBA versions i stick with the SNES version lol ^^;

  • Edward is very good in a party thanks to his Chant ability gained in the GBA Lunar Ruins. It casts Protect and Shell on your party for free and is therefore a completely awesome ability. I can't wait till I get to use Edward's Salve and Bardsong abilities in FFIV DS!

  • i just use the lunar titan summon, turn him tiny and u can do about 9999 damage with weapons and magic i no its cheap but its the easiest way

  • just get the armour of the guy that you give the tails to i gave it too my rydia and he didnt even deal over 1000 damage >.>

  • Nice fight.I've never tried soloing Zeromus,Once again, sweet.Wouldnt it be cool if you could play FF IV on the wii?You could make Cecil fly...LOL

  • lol, this is advance right... i tried to solo-ed with cecil, but everytime his whirl for the 3rd time

i'm dead, 1 hp left and bomb posioned, ko, and Zeromus EG, however, didn't gets 9999 damage every attack\turn in my fight.

  • If you keep at fighting him for too long, he will use his tornado + tsunami combo attack to deal 9999 damage to all members in your party regardless of the Hero's Shield and all absorb bonuses/

  • Zeromus killed himself hahaha, I want the chick on him!

  • all my characters were at lvl 99 b4 i fought the dark elf xD

    I overleveled a lot........

i kept thinking that i was too underlvled for the dark elf cos it kept doing 9999 damage xD xD then i realised bout edward....

  • So why does he take 9999 for no reason?

  • I've been wondering that myself.

  • He might be effected by poison. or does that happen to him all the time?

  • You can't be poisoned at the beginning of a battle, dude.

  • Then I guess the only other solution is mabey he's a lesser compared to the original or the designers thought he was mabe too tough so they made it that he takes 9999 before every attack. Though, if that was the case, they'd probly do the same for Omega or Seiryu in FF1.

  • Gotta love Lightbringer/Hero's Shield =p Same with Abel's Lance.

  • WOW you're lucky man ;) 1:02 :D

  • 9999 damage 21 times will kill him. ;)

  • sweet, you've got a game boy player too

  • ok how did u absorb elemental attacks and wat armor ur wearing

  • If you thought this was tedious, I beat Zeromus on the SNES cartridge version of FFII using only Kain's jump. Hahaha....everyone else died in battle. Kain's the man.

  • Hm..how did you absorb holy damage?

XD going to try this myself soon

  • hero shield or something...from that brachioraidos thing I think

  • No. Caesar's plate dumbass...thats how u absorb holy damage!

  • O_o I'm starting to think that thing commited suicide 'cause it kept casting Holy on himself. Either that, or Cecil's Healing ability is untimely. How did he heal from an Elemental blast like the Earthquake combo?

  • Sometimes when Cecil attacks with the Light Bringer, it casts holy. And also, he absorbs elemental damage because of the Hero's Shield. You get that shield by killing the Brachioraidos.

  • O_O I NEED TO GET THIS STUF!!! btw, how do you get lightbringer?

  • You have to beat Lunar Odin ;)

  • /_\

I'm still stuck at regular Zeromus. Well, I guess this is my punishment for running away from so many battles and being only level 33.

  • i beat zeromus whit 30 avarage lvl of all characters u need lots of elixirs if u wanna win him =)

  • thnx

  • if you are playing the playstation version of ff4, then you need to be in your 50's and have elixirs. playstation version is hardest imo.

  • lol i did exactly the same :P

  • ...you CAN equip the Lightbringer right before you battle Lunar Odin :/

  • As for it taking max damage most likely 1 of the grimoire trial books poisoned the boss.

Causing it to lose HP without even attacking it.

  • Man the extra equipment in the GBA version takes the fun out of playing tooo godly of weapons.

  • err anyone can tell me wat amour cecil used

  • In wonder in which FF game zeromus looks better in, this one or FFXII. However Zeromus gave me hell in both 5/5 dude.

  • hahahahaha, dude, reflecting light bringer's holy back and cecil and getting healed for 7000 hps is awesome stuff.

  • From what I remember, I thought he was supposed to HEAL 9999 every time he attacked. How come yours LOSES health instead? What'd you do? :P

As to that Holy spell...it's Cecil's new ultimate weapon. What was it called...oh yeah, Lightbringer.

  • Most beautiful pile of gore i have ever seen...

  • what sword are you using that keep casting holy after almost every attack

  • Why did he keep taking 9999 damage for no appearent reason? And where did the 'Holy' attack come from?

  • roughly 40% chance that the Lightbringer will cast Holy every time you attack with it

  • Can someone please tell me what system this is on, seems a lot different than the one I played on SNES

  • GBA version. This is the main optional boss of this version.

This video also is an example similar to how the Berserker Single Class Challenge from FFV isn't just watching and hoping for the best. Equipment and level is the strategy involved in a challenge like this, and luck also plays a nice role.

  • its on gameboy advance

  • haha this is so funny...i did a solo with Kain (lvl 99) and i used a very weak weapon (blood spear) no amor and i managed to kill him somehow... oh and i only like dmged max of 800...LOL

  • so did I check my kain solo vid, I recorded it, wasn't it so easy once you recognized his battle pattern?

  • i saw kain fight Zeromus at lv24 a vid!

  • how does that 9999 thing keep happening

  • happens when zermous attacks, he loses 9999 hp eerytime he attacks

  • Not all the time. That didn't happen when I faced him.

  • If you keep at fighting him for too long, he will use his tornado combo attack to deal 9999 damage to all members in your party

  • LOL i know. that happened to me once. XD

  • I once won against this guy with only Edward... How? Simple: "Psycho Edward" glitch... When he got low HP, cast Berserk on him and when he hides, he'll still attack and won't be hit by any magics/attacks... Cecil, Rosa & Rydia was already dead and Kain used DblJump (this was before my savefile got erased... Now, I'm stuck at Kains trial).. So Edward finished him off ^_^

  • When he cast Big Bang which was depleting your energy and when he cast whirl and he hit him and your sword cast holy reflecting back to you restoring your HP, that was so clutch!

  • What level & equipment did you have?

And Zeromus LITTERALY took sucide in the ending... XD

  • way to utalize the use of cecilsmequipment... ;)

  • could you do an edward solo game...i don't think you can because...of how long he gets left out in the game lol

  • u got kind of lucky at one point u know

  • i did holy on himself

  • i mean it did holy on himslef

  • Great Job!

Hmmm... How is Zeromus EG losing 9999 HP by itself? Or at least, that's what it looks like...
