Of the snare drum score: the first measure of Part 4 does not fit the tune. It's not sensitive to the music; it's just a roll mashing through a nice bar of high hand work by the pipes. If you want to play a roll, make it an accented roll corresponding to the pipe notes in terms of rhythm, starting out piano and then crescendo. But just burying the music by a roll, in that bar, is not sensitive to the tune.

@donthepiper Don, I met you once. I asked you what tunes you had written that I might know of, and you told me "The Spice of Life" -- but I could not place this melody with that title at that time. I'd have told you that you have my awe and admiration for coming up with something so brilliantly musical, entertaining, and original. I'm sorry I was too ignorant at the time to express my appreciation for the ingeniousness of this piece of music. Thanks for making my life better with this jig!
