It may look to some like he was being racist, but that's because they got offended, which means they probably got a little angry, and often when people's perceptions are based off of anger they are taken out of proportion.

Calm down BEFORE making accusations, or they will probably be false.

The mocking was about the culture, which is the people, which is the race. He was being racist in a way, perhaps lighter than most people do it, but still it could be percieved as racist. Personally I think it was very rude to do that, not so much because he done it, but he done it -right in front of them- which would offend me as well.
