The old commercials had a style and quality the new Barbie ad's don't have. Now it's loud, obnoxious "buy it, buy it, buy it". These old commercials had a simple purity and elegance that went with the dolls charm and sophistication.

This commercial was most likely shot in 1964. The swirl ponytail Barbie is the "newest" Barbie doll shown and is very 64. The outfits also pre-date 65. In 1965 Mattel introduced Bend-leg Barbie who had the American girl hair cut that is not in this ad which leads me to believe that this definitely 1964!
