  • do they really call it "shark skin" instead of samehada in the dub?

  • @LookItsCollin Yes. That's what "samehada" means.

  • @Overhazard im aware, it just sounds terrible to say shark skin instead of samehada. Just like we dont call sakura cherry blossom or kakashi scarecrow

  • @LookItsCollin This is what it sounds like to a Japanese viewer though. To them, "Shark Skin" probably sounds like a cool English name.

  • @Overhazard yes, they also hear Cherry blossom and Scarecrow instead of Sakura and Kakashi. But we dont call them those names in the american version because it would sound weird.

  • @LookItsCollin And that's an issue all translators have to deal with: Where do you draw the line between things that are translated and things that aren't? It's never very clear, and it's always up to that individual translator.

In this case, it was likely due to Kisame's sword's name having significance to what it is (it's rough like shark skin, and it scrapes like it too), whereas Sakura has nothing to do with cherry blossoms nor Kakashi having anything to do with scarecrows.

  • @LookItsCollin Actually... Just to clarify, it doesn't sound that odd in Japanese to call them scarecrow because it is a name. I know it's confusing... but most east Asian names have meaning behind the characters than what made them up... or the culture of Sakura... they don't mean it as a literal flower.

  • English voiceovers are simple dumb just like a average american citizen. You should play it with japanese dub because it's the best possible version.

  • @IndianaHenryJones20 Or next time they can hire english actors with good jap accents

  • @marcoge100 true. Unfortunetly they usually don't bother with matching the right actors to the role.

  • @IndianaHenryJones20 Again I say to all you japanese worshippers tell people who actually give a crap about your opinon...

I'm all for the japanese dub considering there are scenes in that dub not shown in america but I don't care either way...I'll watch the japanese dub but only if it has english subtitles....but people like you who complain about the english version really ruin it for those who want to actually understand the conversations....

  • @animelovnguy I'm just saying that they should at least try to do it wright. For example hire some better actors for dubbing (more suitable at least).

  • The English VA's aren't amazing. Eh I'll play it in Japanese voices.

  • i happened to have this game on the PS3

  • @shadowboss675 so do i, wanna battle sometime? (0_____0)

  • You did really well in the first fight with Neji! Had you practised or is Neji a fairly easy character to pick up?

  • @cypedant I'd say he's just a pretty good character and has similar stats to him, that I could get used to him quickly.

Aside from the ones you saw in the October 20th online fights, I haven't used any character prior to their fights in the adventure mode.

  • Poor poor Tenten

  • Does this game EXIST in the Wii version?

  • @7ofSpade Unfortunately, no. There is no Wii version. This is only for the HD systems.

  • @Overhazard I already beat this game, but i'm stuck on this one request mission. I need to get 10 ninja tools and show them to this ninja tool freak. Where should i go to get them?

  • @Musicboy315 They're all for sale at the Ninja Tool Shop. If you're missing any ingredients, you receive them by clearing missions or going through friendship events.

  • The only connection Guy and Kisame have is that they had a very short fight in the first anime which got interrupted.

After that it becomes kind of a running gag that Guy can't remember who Kisame is.

  • @Syaoman5 Okay, so there really is no history between them--just that Kisame finds Guy to look really familiar.

  • @Overhazard

    Yup

  • @Overhazard actually kisame almost killed kakashi and guy stoped him at the last minute winning him in a fight

  • For the record, I do believe Hinata is Neji's cousin, just saying, you said she was his sister

  • @TeamTipper Oh, really? Perhaps I'll go look it up to verify it.

  • @Overhazard

Neji is the son of the head of the sidebranch of the clan while Hinata is the daughter of the head of the mainbranch.

The heads are brothers so yup, Hinata and Neji are cousins. There was even a time, albeit very short, were he was "interested" in her.

  • @Syaoman5 Okay. I'll go fix the description then.

  • @Syaoman5 was that when she was three and he called her cute?

  • @dontkillpuppies342 He's the space captain in Futurama.
