  • It sounds like a simplified (no chord change) version of some of Vangelis's BLADE RUNNER music. Still quite sweet, though!

  • That's the sickest beat.

  • fantastic like ur setup too

  • GREAT MUSIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dragoste747 Thanks a lot :)

  • Hi, any chance you might have any obxa patches as a wav file? I just got one but the sounds are all lost :( Tried a factory setting wav i found on the web but can not get it to complet the load

  • Great sound! It reminds me a lot of early Tangerine Dream.

  • @TomZentra Thanks for your comment :)

  • @TomZentra YEAH i totally agree.

Great ... i love that, very chilled and warm sound! I own 2 Polysix, one is midified and also the TR 606, no 101, but the TB 303 and some other old TOYS, hehe.

This (may simple) but it works, ´cause it let me FLY!!!

    THANX :o)

  • I really like this piece of music. I can just imagine Dave Gahan's voice (Depeche Mode) on top of it, although it doesn't need any vocals at all. Have you written much else? You obviously have a talent for creating atmospheric music.

  • @MisAnnThorpe Thanks for your nice comments!

  • beatiful music! nice job!

  • @z3z4z3z4z3z4z3z4 thanks for your nice comments!

  • you're a lucky man. im looking at buying the sh-201i cant seemm to find a good condition analog synth for under $1000.:(

  • That was a nice piece.

  • Thanks for your nice comment!

  • this is so good :D

  • Thanks a lot!

  • Sounds great !

ps Jump is made on a OB-X not OB-Xa...

  • Pretty sure it is the OB-Xa, as it is played in split mode which the OB-X does not have.

Van Halen himself mentioned that it is an OB-Xa in some issue of Keyboard years back...

  • "The OB-X is all too easily mistaken for the later OB-Xa (the "enhanced" OB-X). Think of the famous Oberheim sound in Jump with Van Halen, recorded with an OB-X in the studio but played live on an OB-Xa on tour. Jean-Michel Jarre did the same thing, using an OB-X in the studio (recording Magnetic Fields), but touring with an OB-Xa on Concerts in China."

  • Thanks for your comment.

  • 5/5

  • Thanks a lot :)

  • ''Simple et efficace'',just great job man keep working and sharing...

  • sickness!!!

  • cool retro sound...

  • Thanks for your nice comments!

  • Futuristic...Futuristic !!!!

    Great Song!!

  • Thanks a lot !

  • Interesting how the OB-XA was so much richer then the OB-8, (I sold mine 4 years ago). I just bought a Matrix 12 and it too doesn't not have the "fat" lush sound of the OB-XA. Even My beloved Jupiter 8 just can't emulate those XA patches. Great electronic music, thanks for sharing it.

  • Thank you for your nice comments!

  • Lisergic sound! And you got some beautiful pieces of machinery, bro!

  • Thank you !

  • Fantasti sound! 5*

  • Thanks for your nice comments!

  • Thanks for nice comments!

  • Superb analog sounds...! thanks a lot... *****

  • Thanks!

  • awesome sound. do you know where i can buy one? i looked everywhere but found nothing.

  • Keep looking on Ebay. This synth came out in 1981 and, since its analog, people are trying to hold on to these. You will probably have a hard time finding it. Also, depending on where you live, check out pawn shops and second hand stores as well as garage sales.

  • theres one at the guitar center

  • online? or in the store?

  • I love an analogue sound. Super track!

  • Powerful analog sound!! Nice! Classic track! :)

  • Thanks for your nice comments!

  • im floating away dude

  • awesome

  • Thanks :-)

  • спасибо очень красиво.

    почти как у Берта Кистенмахера

  • Thanks for your nice comments!

Who is "Берта Кистенмахера " ?

  • Oberheims got a new SEM coming out... Hopefully it lives up to the hype.....

  • MIAMI VICE!!

  • Excellent, great choice of patches and atmosphere. Some pretty cool and rare gear there too!

  • Thanks for your nice comments!

  • Oberheims are pure class. Rest in piece Tom. Your gift to the music industry won't be forgotten.

  • You dumbass Toms not dead!

  • I wish he could bring the synths back to life like Moog. The Oberheim Xa Sounds fantastic.

  • I've heard the Tom's got something in the works.

  • I've heard that too.

If only Dave Simmons could return as well, so we could get those nice electronic drums back also!

  • Damn! My mistake man. I was thinking about Doug Curtis of CEM. The guy responsible for many of the integrated circuits used in these machines in the 80's. He died of pancreatic cancer in 2007 after a long battle. Sorry Tom. RIP Doug.

  • lol!

Bobby Moog is dead though. :'-(

  • hahaha xD

  • No OBXa without Doug Curtis..

  • That was cool, enjoyed that, I'll watch it agian.

  • thanks :)

  • Great sound. It reminds me of earlier Tangerine Dream and Michael Garrison. Do you have any plans to put your music out on CD? I really like spacey music like this.

  • I'm so missing good old analogue sound. It had this unique character. Great music. Do you have it anywhere in high quality. Like lossless quality?

  • Thanks for your nice comments!

I have only this recording made with a pocket

    camera.

  • Fabulous sound! Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks for your comments!

  • play subdivisions!!plz!

  • really great sound? Could you record an mp3?

  • Maybe in the near future ?

    Thanks for your nice comments!

  • this sounds simply brilliant!

  • Thanks!

  • Good track! I like, I like..

    Nice subtle-robotic drums

  • Thanks for your nice comments!

  • Nice track, something like Tangerine Dream, good:)

  • I will have a synthesizer from Oberheim !

  • YOU had BETTER!

  • Nice man, nice. Favorited. This sound is timeless.

  • Isn't using a 101 with an Oberheim a bit like parking an AMC Pacer behind your caddie ? ;)

Really, though - I rarely get bored of arps playing over pads. May be a sickness though.

I did feel the drums could use a bit more kick.

    Thanks for posting

  • OMG that's fantastic...I've got two 101s and an MC202 that I haven't used for ages which are coming out of the cupboard right now :-)

Lovely piece of music... You can't get tones that warm from any plugin!

    J.

  • Thanks!

  • Thank You!

  • you my friend, are an idiot

  • hey man I'm really digging it...brings back memories of Tangerine Dream and the like...really good...anyway to get this in an MP3? I would love to get a copy

  • nice work sounds like good Ambient

  • OMG, nice work dude, brings me back to "Michael Garrison" moments, thx!

  • Then I guess you aren't playing the gig then, eh cheapskate?

  • This dude knows quality kit!

  • nice stuff, cool and expensive synths! i tryed a ob8 once the filter it soo damn nice! try set the lfo to control the filter with a random waveform, put up the resonance, and it sounds just awesome! hehe peace

  • Dude I hate you. I can't take this track out of my mind ;-)

    Reaaaaly good..

  • Reaaaally good... What is the phaser you used on the SH?? The mighty Boss pedal??

  • Thanks, It's a old Amdek phk-100 pedal.

  • super sound

  • If there was no video to watch I would have thought it was Jean Michel-Jarre, Very Nice my friend!!! I use to own the SH-101 now after this vid, I'm kicking myself in the ass for selling it!!!

  • Thanks!

Yes the SH-101 is a great small synth, perfect for bass lines or for playing solo's.

  • very very nice. you just gave me an idea for my next solo break. ty keep it up.

  • precioso

  • Excelent. Love the song.

  • "Is that the SH-101 sweeping in the background? if so how did you come up with that sounds its very nice... I have an SH-101 as well."

Well - listen to it - sounds like a phaser.

  • Yes, i haved used a phaser and a digital delay on the SH-101.

  • takes me back to some TD days.

  • Dude, your a genius! how you got such smooth transition for the bassline out of that MONOPHONIC SH-101 is incredible in itself... usually with mono boards, the sustain gates down making it choppy. And that Roland TR-606... Had one, loved it until I got an Oberheim DMX which I still faithfully use. You dug out the true dinosaurs and show that they STILL kick MAJOR ass!!!

  • i want an ob xa sooo bad!!!

  • Is that the SH-101 sweeping in the background? if so how did you come up with that sounds its very nice... I have an SH-101 as well.

  • sounds great! I wish I had an ob-xa

  • What do you think of the Oberheim OB-SX???? are there any other models you would suggest? I would buy an OB-Xa but it is a little over my budget (since I am not a keyboardist)

  • oh this sounds very cool ....

  • Way cool!

The OBXa is still on the wishlist.

    Nice song

  • Great! Nice composition, great gear! Nothing can beat the old analog vintage synths.

  • Damn you!!! I'd kill for one of these!!

  • What the heck!? That tune at the beginning is identical to a melody I recorded on my computer forever ago! That's so bizarre!

  • It is DJ shadow's celestial annihilation, kinda sounding

  • Wow, I still have one of these, my dad bought it and the first day it was bought it was burnt down with a building that he left it at.

Still works suprisingly, but very very awkwardly...

  • This is great! I don't think there's anything like that classic Oberheim sound. You immediatley recognize it when you here it. I wish people would compose more like this and stop twiddling with the damn controls like you often see. I too like the phaser!

  • Beuno!!! How many voices is that beautiful peice of gear? great synth great song!!

  • Thanks! It's a 8-voice!

  • beautiful song

    (from italy)

  • It sounds like Neuronium

  • I want to play like that :)

    Anyway, real nice synths!

  • nice work all the best Donnie

  • cool!

  • Me recuerda a Vangelis... sigue asi, no lo dejes!!!

  • grazias!

  • nice phaser on the 101 bassline..

  • That was pretty good! I love your synth man....I have a Yamaha DX7. Love it's sound. But i would also love to get ahold of an Oberheim OBXa.

    Great work!

  • Thank you for these nice comments!
