  • I thought Mr. Applewood was the worst teacher ever

  • Shes nice

  • Dude, In Korea, THEY HIT YOU WITH A STICK IF YOU DON'T DO YOUR WORK. GOD DAMMIT.

  • Worst teacher? Have you ever heard of FRENCH SCHOOL SYSTEM!?

  • Wow she is not worst teacher

    and I like that kid

  • Wow she is not worst teacher

  • stupid anorimous children

  • If you acually watch the episode Good bye Mrs. Wilder you will find that Laura wants to teach the kids sensable things like farming but the school board is against her mainly Mrs. Olson who runs everything Laura has to work with what she has and with Willie underminding her every step of the way and Mrs. Olsen pretty much letting him do it what do you expect have you acually watched the whole episode Mrs. Olsen is a way worse teacher then Laura. so don't be calling laura a bad teacher.

  • BTW, This comes from a Mom that has 2 Honor roll teens. That not only love me but like me. I say, if my kid gets out of hand in the classroom, put them in the corner for all to see. Embaress them. Bet they won't do it again...... ;) Wicked?? Mean?? Maybe. But this is not a coddle your child world. Love 'Em but, you better love them right. I refuse to raise brats.

I cannot wait to watch tv with my kids tomorrow. AFTER they are done with homework and chores. 8-)

  • Are you serious?? The fact that a teacher challenges her students?? Challenge my kids in school teacher!! So that they may look outside of themselves and what they know. So that they may learn and learn the way life is for others. It is not all Playstations and cable. Teach Teacher. Learn Student.

  • the teacher is a bit pushy!! I don't see any issue with her putting the kid in the corner. Though I do think it's crazy that the woman and the Board of Ed guy would interrupt her class.

  • She seems really young...

  • Bad teacher? Maybe because she expects those 19th century kids in MN to know the geography of NY with what seems like no previous exposure to the material... not because she disciplined a student. Wow. What a concept. Seems the poster has an ax to grind.

    - A teacher.

  • The kid's got a point- why WOULD you need to know the five parts of NYC? Wouldn't it be better to learn countries or states or something?

  • i would have bitched slap the little brat

  • you call laura ingalls a bad teacher again im gonna' fry up my eggs here, eat some toast with jelly, then get my tea pot and smack you upside ya' mouth you yellow bellied goat fucker!

  • worst show ever.

  • Well if you watch this episode...you realize that Laura is supposed to be in a rotten mood and the kids are only pissing her off more, thus making her teaching style a bit dull and uninspiring. However, I do agree that the discipline was not near as extreme as it possibly be could have been to actually teach Willie a lesson.

  • Oh no! She is disciplining a youth! She must be a horrible human being! (Sarcasm)

  • Do you know why the Germans killed Jews? She was German decent. It's two separate incidents, same teacher and it wasn't just those things that made here the worst teacher there is more but those are the things that jump out at me.

  • she kinda has the right to be mad since the kids aren;t listening

  • boring but I like the show Little House on the Prairie

  • i would totally like to bang her

  • @jthoov now after 30 years?

  • wow

  • She's better than most teachers I've had to deal with.

  • I had a teacher that told me blond haired blue eyed humans were the first to be on Earth. I raised the most money for my school in candy sales and my class earned a HUGE Hershey bar. She said we were bad children and we never got it. I think she ate it. I think she must have hated children. If Laura Ingalls Wilder was the worst teacher, I would beg for more of her kind to be in public schools and an elimination of the ones who don't belong in schools.

  • @nosuchthingasauserna Huh? what does the blonde-hair bluehuan thing have to do with you raising oney, ad to the video?

  • how is she bad?

  • Comment removed

  • retarded students what do you want?

  • Ginger Fail!!

  • she needs a power point! lol

  • no way is mrs wilder the meanest or worst ever

  • I thought they caned kids back then, instead of giving them time outs

  • LOL that guy acts like Keegan...

  • What's the age differance between Willie and Laura?;(they were in the same class as students,at the start of the series). How about between Laura and Albert, her brother.

  • LOL

  • Standing in the corner. Worst punishment ever.

  • @JakSpringTooth nope thats not the worse punishment ever!! my grandma used to punish me by forcing me stand in front of a wall on one leg not using my hands to balance myself and stay there for about 2-4 hours

  • funny to think that this was considered a cult classic kinda thing:) coarse im in that group never get tired of watching even if its recycled every 6mo:)

  • what makes her the worst teacher ever? there were teachers in this time period who would hit their students at the first disruption, rather then first warning them and then making them stand in the corner. laura was an excellent teacher by comparison.

  • @xtremebandnerd16 I would argue that this makes her an excellent person, not necessarily a good teacher. Her teaching style consists purely of knowledge questions, no problem-solving involved. Even assuming that she did introduce the topic adequately at some point, this still is no effective way of spending a lesson. It's a typical mistake made in fiction whenever school culture and lessons are portrayed.

  • she looks like shes 20

  • WOW poor laura. that class is really dumb.

  • Get real! This isn't accurate for the era! The teacher would have decapitated that spit ball kids head at the first offense. Nowadays kids can piss on a teacher and the teacher can't do shit. It fucking sucks. There's no authority, no discipline. It might as well be anarchy where everyone is lazy and steal from each other because they didn't learn to respect their teacher or anyone else for that matter. The corporations will make loads of cash from prisons and police spending.

  • is that boy spit balling jude law?

  • WORST TEACHER ? WHY ? CAUSED SHE MADE THAT KID STAND IN THE CORNER, SHOULD'VE SLAPPED HIM SILLY

  • Age differance between Willie(student),and Laura,(teacher)? Mrs. Olson was the worst part of this show.

  • why, oh why did i click on this...

  • These are like my English classes. Only the kids have no idea what I'm asking them.

  • This episode takes place in the 1880's. NYC was not incorporated until 1898. Until then, it was the counties of New York, Kings, Queens, Richmond and the Bronx, not he burroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Richmond and Bronx.

  • How about HOTTEST teacher ever?

  • @moealharbi i agree - willy shouldve taken advantage of the situation i wouldve

  • She's very impatient and doesn't make the information relatable for these isolated country kids.

  • worst teacher ever : mrs. olson...... ¬_¬

  • She looks like Lindsey Lohan

but she's getting mad off of nothing

    that kid knows the truth

  • I would say F**k Off to Mrs. Oleson. I would say F**k you, if Laura gets nasty with me!

  • Horrible teacher! She's mean.

  • Lmao I kinda agree with Willie..why would they ever go to New York.. what's the point of useless knowledge?

  • @OfficialArmonist

there is no such thing as useless knowledge

  • Okay, a blue collar worker who has been taught equations in Algebra will most likely never use that method of problem solving. Not saying math is useless knowledge, because you use that every day, but in a sense parts of Algebra are useless to some people. Algebra skills are not relevant unless you want a career which uses those skills. Therefore, an example of useless knowledge.

  • @pppdc55 yes there is if your not going to use it its useless

  • LAURA IS AWSOME

  • @musicrocksf2w4 is laura da techer?

  • ... why in the hell did they have to learn about New York? Fuck New York

  • She seemed to expect her students to know things she hadn't even taught yet. She was also very impatient. I know that willie was really disruptive, but she should have handled the situation better. If she had made the kids who were laughing at Willie's behavior face the wall, most of the students would probably stop encouraging him.

  • I would have thought the priority for learning in the 19th Century to be mathematics and literacy, with the other subjects such as geography and history being only a small portion of the curriculum. I'm actually often surprised at the amount of civics lessons that were taught in these episodes. I always wonder how historically accurate it is.

  • Willie and Albert are so cute!!! :)

  • Actually, she is not the worst teacher. It is just that she is dealing with a bunch of brats. Willie Olsen was acting half his age in this scene.

  • Laura is not the worst teacher! I wish all of my teachers were that nice!

  • She seemed average for midwestern teacher in 19th century. Admittedly that is a low standard. For example why should kids in the midwest be expected to know NYC details?

  • Exactly. I think Germany has the right idea, after you graduate from middle school you can either go to college or begin training as an apprentice under a master craftsman; that way vocational students wouldn't have to go through four years of high school learning things that they will not use in their careers, while those who do want to learn them for their careers can.

  • Why the heck would you ever need to know the "buroughs" of NYC?

  • @yennster57

NYC is the financial capital of the world. Chances are that if you get a job in financing or banking, you will inevitably have to make a trip to NYC. If you go to NYC and the taxis know that you don't know your way around, they will usually dirve the longest route possible to screw you out of extra money. But if you know the location of the 5 boroughs and can read the GPS map in the taxi, you will be able to redirect the driver into taking the shorter, less car congested route.

  • @wbc1

thank HEAVENS these kids are learning this info, then...

and they wasted SO much time learnin' how to help Pa run the farm >.>

  • Does seem kind of pointless to learn about the Brooklyn Bridge when you're an 18th century pioneer out in the Midwest.

  • Its all about jack in the box tacos

  • lmfao

  • That 19th Century fox can slap my behind with a yardstick any day of the week. Yeowtch!

  • the ropes, i mean whatever

  • mrs olsen had her funny moments, lol like when they were transporting the blind kids; she was so prejudiced of black people that she didn't want to sit on the wagon with Joe Kagan; then later, when they had to take them across the river on the wire, she fell in the water.

  • every time Mrs. Oleson opened her mouth, i wanted to punch that woman.

  • this show annoyed the shit outta me

  • Hay! Sheez not soe bad! Shee wuz mye teecher and luk hou smort i am!

  • Asking kids information that they haven't learned yet is lame. That's not how you teach.

  • Albert is a bad boy.

    Albert ist ein böser Junge.

  • The problem was not Laura. The problem was Willie Oleson and his entitlement-minded mother.

  • I wish my math teacher was this nice and reasonable >.>

  • she was not such a bad teacher. you know at those times teachers could hit children but she doesnt. she just puts him in the corner. also when his mother came in she told him to sit, so she is good...and she was right to be angry cause nobody had studied...

  • sending someone to the corner now would just be gay

  • How old is she? o.e

  • She was seventeen years old at the time.

  • for those of you who dont know why she is a lousy teacher, she looses her cool, shes letting the kids get to her, she will eventually snap

  • Laura wasn't exactly my favorite character in the show...her eyes and eyebrows they always look angry and frustrated...like she's scowling at everybody all the time. lol

  • yup thats a pretty bad teacher

  • love house on the pairie,,the teacher is not the problem

  • Hey, I just saw this episode on TV!

  • That kid is due for an ass kicking.

  • she was pissed that nobody could answer LOL. whenever a teacher asks ANY question in my class most times nobody even cares or tries enough to answer. and even if they do know they won't say it cuz they either don't give a shit or are shy

  • I don't get what's wrong with this. Besides the fact that most kids don't behave like that, this is how every class all the way through the end of high school has been for me. Exactly this dumb. Isn't that what school is? An example of a good teacher is one that teaches you things you need to learn and teaches them well, in ways other than just enunciating them. And that's very rare...

  • LOL, a child teacher... hahahaha

  • what's wrong with the teacher? the kids are the problem here... I love the show, got all seasons on dvd for my bday ;))

  • lol rednecks

  • Ugh. Mrs. Oleson. -_-

  • oh yeah i remember that movie

  • Instead of worst teacher ever how about dumbest class ever? That's more appropriate.

  • yeah seriously where' s the brooklyn bridge?

    (sarcastic) gee, i don't know

  • @Cathie8791 it's just a tv episode remember

  • I bet it was fun to act with her brother haha

  • children in school are like that nowadays...it is funny when youre one of them hhehehe....but not the same when youre the teacher

  • That scene is taken completely out of context lol

  • check out KIRK VS THE ROADRUNNER

  • i love this teacher

  • I think she was in a really bad mood during this episode, i doubt she always taught that way.

  • On the first episode Willie was already in school and Laura just started for her first day. Then she became his teacher.

  • they had just moved there and were just starting school there

  • What's with the three periods in the title of this video? That's terrible grammar.

  • I dont know if shes the worst teacher, that would have been a norm in that time

  • which episode is this please?

  • Strange somehow, when they were Kids, Willie and Laura would address each other with their first names. Not it;s "Yes Ma'am!" I guess, Laura and Nellie Oleson are one age and Willie is a bit younger, but back then there was not much difference. Strange to see, that one of your school mates eventually becomes your teacher

  • Was there a girl called Fanny as well? Fancy calling a boy Willy. He deserves a good slap.

  • It's Willie

  • if that teacher is still that young and looks like that, I'd do her

  • You can tell she's hit rock bottom when she calls on willie. LOL

  • can some one pleas tell me when marie is gonna be blind?

  • she's been blind for like ever she went blind when laura was still a little girl.

  • ooh tank you :D

  • she was not a little girl anymore

  • waar is de onertiteling?????

  • dit is oorspronkelijk een amerikaanse serie.

  • what episode is this?

can anybody tell me the title of it?

  • I think It is called "Goodbye, Mrs. Wilder"........ In the episode, Mrs. Oleson temporarily teaches the class.

  • thanks ^^

  • Love it!

  • just pay attention simple but shes a bitch

  • Why are people watching these clips if they can only appreciate tv show of these days. Endless reality shows, comedy series, action, police series and other rather over-dramatic, gloomy or "fake" stuff, This show's a great family / life serie with heartfelt spirit. But why is Laura teaching anyways, especially at that young age? Mary was he one who wanted to be a teacher... And are the other kids doing that on purpose or are they really that lazy / stupid studiers that they don't know ANYTHING?

  • Laura became a teacher when she was around 16 to help support her family. Though in reality, she the family had left Walnut Grove by then and lived in South Dakota. Mary had gone blind, and never became a teacher (though she did attend university whereas Laura never graduated from high school).

  • I don't think it's so much that the kids are lazy/stupid, it's that Laura is testing them on things that she hadn't taught them yet.

I loved this show back in the day, but this is pretty bad scriptwriting.

  • This is exactly the way a lot of ESL/EFL teachers teach -- today!

  • In the mid 1800's there were many teachers that were around Lauras age. In a prairie book series ( Not Little House books) there was a teacher that was nineteen.

  • And you, my argot cudgeling friend, are no doubt their target audience.

  • how old is she supposed to be here?

  • In case they ever want to leave Minnesota pfffhahaha!!! in case they could ever find their way OUT of minnesota, i get lost just thinking about it, and i'm from South Dakota!

  • @PRussell303 ,,,,,,So are Tom Brokaw and Cheryl Stoppelmoor Ladd.

  • its funny how willie and laura went to school together and now laura is willie's teacher!

  • great show it was, if you look at all the nasty stuff on tv nowadays.

  • You can say that again. Nothing is wholesome anymore. :(

  • @Ellhime Nothing is INTELLECTUAL anymore.

    Merry Christmas.

  • That was almost the stupidest thing i have ever seen...

  • every teaches is worst :D

  • She was a very good teacher, she was just annoyed by Willie and his antics.

  • how was she the worst teacher ever?

  • This was a good episode.

  • It's not her, it's all the kids, they have no brain or will to learn. SHe could stop asking them questions and strat 'teaching' them the answers...

  • Lame teacher

  • What's so "Worst. Teacher. Ever" about her?

  • lame vid

  • Er, what's so Worst. Teacher. Ever about her? Stupid title.

  • lame..not even funny
