  • you looked at the wheels but never checked the tyres/horn head lights/mirror's you only done a visual look at the wheels but how do you know that the nuts was tight they could have backed off !!!!!

  • UGH! i hate tridents. awful buses to drive.

  • why is there an emergency exit on the top deck at the back, i guess if the bus turned over, but if it set on fire on the stairs, how would you get out of the bus upstairs-just slide down the back??!!

  • have you ever driven the 17?

  • its alrite

  • i work for stagecoach and you got 5 minutes to check your bus over, now they give you ten,the driver checks the bus not the engineer,he will have checked the defect card from yesterday, poor industry to work in,very little social life, would not recommend it to anyone now.

  • Working for First, we get 15 minutes between duty sign-on and the scheduled departure from the depot, but there's more time available than that because of the pessimistic scheduled time between the depot and the trip start! It's a good job IMO, just show up and sit down. The downsides are shift and weekend working, and (for me anyway) always being one collision or missed duty away from a P45. But that's because I missed a lot of duties, and didn't miss enough cars, in my first six months...

  • ren197 - I agree, I myself used to work in the PSV industry and started as an apprentice when I left school in the midlands. I too have seen far to many operators not caring about passenger safety and comfort. It is good to see the driver within this video actually does carry out a walk around pre-use check. The video isn't quite complete though as he is no doubt going to get an assistant in order to check the stop lights operation ;-) ....Good video, thanks for posting.

  • Fitters add wires in here there and everywhere so when it screws up its twice as hard to figure out what they have done. It's sad to see such amateurs butchering buses, with a low standard of work, which if done right will never arise a problem again. As I have seen demister motors held up with double sided tape, rather than taking the time to fasten it, with the correct screws. As for bodywork it is essential for giving a good company image. I wouldb not accept the standard on my car.

  • As a stagecoach engineering employee, I pride myself on work that I carry out the quality ect. But a few minorities in the workshop have the attitude, "it's only a bus." The amount of times I have set the load sensors up after them being disconnected by fitters, its worth while as it is nicer to drive.

  • what the fuck is this bloke doing everybody knows all stagecoach mechanics are fucking dyslexic especially in gloucester, cheltenham & the forest of dean,

  • But whether engineering act on ANY of the non legal defects ai open to debate!

  • That is the constant gripe of all bus and I suspect train drivers everywhere. It took 9 months of complaining about ball bearings rolling about in the roof space of one bus before they were removed.

  • why did they have them in the roof? they still seem to have them on the old buses they use on the 12C with just one stop button by the stairs.

  • Someone at the factory where the buses were built picked up a handful of balls ( I wish they'd been his own) and dumped them there for a joke.

  • brilliant i love it
