  • Nicely played. Thanks for putting up this series. I rented StarTropics 2 as a kid, but only made it half-way through and never saw the rest of it until now. Maybe I'll get it from the Virtual Console one day and play through it all!

  • oh great....regression of bosses....

  • I thought the planet Agonia was destroied?!?

  • I think this game was meant for the NES 2, like MegaMan 6. But you can still play it on the regular NES.

  • Why does Super Zoda have his junk hanging out. Trying to show Mike the ol tripod I guess. Great runthrough. I was stuck on the sherlock holmes part but now I know what to do. Thanx again

  • that was his tail, perv

  • I know just adding some humor. LOL

  • you would think that Mike would at least get an HJ after all was said and done.....

  • or a ZJ

  • how lonley for him that she just dissaper

  • do those feathers hurt from zoda y?

  • Yes.

  • what a shitty idea

  • this was an awsome game

  • It was, it's a bummer it wasn't really given a chance to shine. I mean, it was the second to last NES game ever made.

  • yeah, but i thought the jungle book was second.

  • Man i forgot how big a twat that last Zoda was... :P

  • Wow, I was playing the 1st one and now I watching this one. The controls seem more fluid in this game and you can shoot at an angle.

I heard this was a bad game, is that true?

  • It's not a bad game at all, but a lot of people say that compared to the original, it's not that good. I personally disagree.

  • From what I can tell it seems awesome. It seems a little easier in some places, but the challenge (from what I can tell) is still there.

  • It's downlooked because it was too drastically different than the first StarTropics.

The controls being changed wasn't exactly liked.

    It had a different approach.

  • Which wasn't horrible. Sometimes it makes me go WTF, but it's not unbearable as some other NES games out there.

  • Hmm Come to mention it, I was playing this game at a slightly faster pace than this video has.

What I mean is the tempo of this game for me was up some.

  • It was probably the storyline too.

I like the controls however because it's just so awesome to see a topdown PLATFORMER. 8 Directions going across a room with 3 different possible heights to step on. I thought that was super cool, especially when it was programmed on the NES.

  • Personally, I think the story was kind of, hastily, put together. The controls are well done, and I was actually thinking about comparing this game to a SNES game (well aside from graphics). This game is pretty cool.

  • This was a good game, taking into consideration that this was made in 1994, and was the second to last NES game ever made. Like Mega Man 6, it was a great game released to little fanfare on a dying console.

  • the big star you uesd at miner reminds me of that invincibillity star in smb. mario ripoff alarm?

  • would it worth if you jump while the miner's ghost is stomp on the floor to avoid the moveless

  • From my experience, the aftershock lasts too long and you just don't jump high enough to avoid getting stunned.

  • oh ok thx

  • From what I've seen, a lot of flack is thrown at this game for really BS reasons. Things like traps and enemies have special attacks are nothing new to games, and the game never calmed to be historically accurate. I think many ST fans use this game as a scapegoat to explain why the franchise died, so to them, it's an evil game, and they seek the "Problems" in it. At least that's my theory on why people don't like it.

  • for the great advice you may be the REAL ULTIMATE GAMER O_O

  • How come you don't jump during the battle with the Mashing Miner? Probably save you some hearts.

  • i tried.i dont think itworked.or maybe i timed it too late?

  • Yeah, actually being in the air doesn't stop the effect fully, but it gives you at least the chance to be moving away from the rocks at the top and/or shooting at the miner.

  • Also, you can't move as fast when you're airborne, unfortunately.

  • It would have been more cool if you and Mica got together, but since she's an alien, I don't think that would have worked out.

  • Meh, sure it could lol look at Max and Mirya (or however you spell her name) from Robotech, one was human one was a green haired alien, both of them ace pilots, they got together and had a kid too later on XD

  • its like hes playing tetris with the tetrads

  • The zoda bosses is the hardest in this game i think =)

  • i beat this one but i cant beat the first one XD

  • Yeah, the first one is much harder. But, I'm nearing completion on my guide for that game, so you might want to check it out when it's up.

  • Great playing, how long time toke you to finish this game?

  • In terms of actual gameplay time, roughly two hours beginning to end.

  • plz do zelda2 the adventure of link i m having so much trouble finding thing i need

  • Well, it's been an extremely long time since I played Zelda 2; I'm gonna need quite a bit of time to shake off the rust. But, I'll definitely take your suggestion into consideration. But know this, it might be a while before I can put a guide on that game together.

  • thts ok all i relly need to find is the candle so i can see enemies in caves but i just cant seem to find phararapa or somthing like tht i play on the nes cafe

  • I can answer this question. You're correct about the candle being in Parapa Palace. It's on the bottom floor, all the way to the left. You'll need a key and you'll have to cross a bridge. To get to Parapa Palace, head northeast from the game's starting point and get through the cave that you come to. Head a bit more northeast and you're there.

  • yea...can you still do the game for other people and me as well cuz i still dont have the candle

  • Well, that will probably be my next project after the one I'm working on right now.

  • koolthey are the skeletons of the bosses u faced previously

  • also, reached super zoda, but have not beaten him yet. this is definitely easier said than done!

  • Patience and practice. You'll get him sooner or later.

  • how long did it take you before you beat him?

  • When I first got the game, I beat it beginning to end in three weeks. I spent about a week on the final boss gauntlet before I put together that route that maxed out my medicine and hearts.

  • finally did today. it felt so good to get over that hump!

  • liked your entire review. one request, do the original startropics if possible.

  • i was just about to say tat
