  • What a great playing style. Thank you.

  • brilliant playing

  • solid as a rock!

  • Also just mention that at least have advantage of playing harmonica for many years but mainly blues style but getting bored and not achieving any results so harmonica tutor suggested some old Aussie folk tunes and Jigs to keep interest.Wife bought me for 40th many years ago an old Hohner 114 model in G and just recently purchased a near new 1040 model in G also and just love the sound of the single row models but left hand chords a challenge .Ian

  • Great tune, have seen a few versions such as Bobby Gardiner and would like to learn this tune but could only findSheila coyle tune ? Could you please advise a link to where to obtain written notes to learn tune .Thanks Ian.

  • @iantheo1 Hi: I learned the tune by ear. Unfortunately I have not seen this one written down. I'm sure it is written somewhere, but I just don't know about it. :)

  • Thanks. It seems to me that you're playing a cajun melodeon. The only one's I've seen for sale so far are in C. I am thinking about buying one. For Irish music do you think D is better? There are some reels in Em and Am that I particularly want to play . Any suggestions?

  • @ilikemyexoticpets

Hi! Yes, for Irish music these days, "D" is a better choice for a one row. Beyond the one row are two rows mostly played in keys of B/C, C#/D and some other combinations. I'm a C#/D player as well. You're right, these boxes are also used in Cajun music, but Cajuns usually have the reeds tuned a little differently. Now these are just my opinions, others will certainly differ with me. :)

  • Great job! What's the tuning of this melodeon? C?

  • @ilikemyexoticpets Hi: It's key of "D." I just recently had new reeds put in and had it tuned to a drier sound. I haven't had a chance to record it however. Thanks!

  • beautiful

  • nice music

  • brilliant playing.......is it diffecult to go from the two row to one row?

  • 2 row gives u more of a chance for ornamentation. one row you need to be a bit more....:"creative"

  • @kieranmc29 Hi! I also play a C#D, so it's not that much of a strech. :)

  • Thanks for the compliments!

  • Good playing - well done! Good on ya - this makes YouTube worthwhile. I've been trying to think how to vamp this one on a harmonica. One of these days...

  • Awesome and really Brilliantly played my friend. Bravo to you 100%

I was taping my toes all the way through. You have it happening for sure. Lovely.

  • HEY!!! Good job, buddy!

  • well done.

  • Awesome. Reticent plus Irish music? Maybe not... but cool nonetheless!

    Reticent

  • Thank you so much for that. I like the old-style one-row box the best, more beat to the music.
