Wow! Last time I heard this I was accompanying my friend in a bar called Moodies in the city of Wakefield Yorkshire. That was back in the sixties! I love the use of fiddle and jaws harp in this.
Although I have watched this one a few times already , came back for a refresher. Many of us here in the the hills can trace our ancestry to the Scot-Irish who arrived here several generations ago. Along with there toughness and will to survive, they brought there little stills and the knowledge to convert rye into rocket fuel. While waiting for rockets to be invented, they found and other uses for it, fire starter, internal medication, and of course underwear remover. We thank your ancestors.
Yes i used to enjoy the odd drink of Old Bushmills myself - now I just have memories too! Tell Don I'm still practicing the cigar box guitar and it will feature in a video soon I hope.
Yes we had great fun doing this - it keeps us out of trouble! I'm looking forward to your next video............ hopefully you'll be playing your new Fenderbird :)
Even though this is a traditional Irish song, I think we've given a bit of a bluegrass/ole timey feel to it. It all comes from the same source anyway....

Thanks Pete - yes it's a traditional Irish song.

Is this Grandpa Jones' song or older, something Irish perhaps? Great stuff Jack and fellas.
