I've just finished this adventure clicking game today. Totally worth the money. The story line is amazing and you don't want to skip a single scene or word they tell as it keeps entertaining you. It's all about using your mind to solve problems. The animating of this game is also just fine. It took me 4 really long evenings to finish this game. Everything in this game is just amazing and so relaxing. There's demo's around so you can give it a try. It got me hooked on immediately after the demo:)

I was completely put off by the main character being a total dick. Pretty much the first thing you have to do in the game is try to chat up a woman, and if you fail, you have to try again multiple times as the douche you're controlling apparently doesn't take "no" for an answer. I guess they managed to create a believable 30's misogynist, if that was their goal, but that pretty much prevented me from getting any enjoyment out of the game.

Lost Horizon is an awesome game with amazing graphics, pretty good soundtracks and even a few laugh-out-load moments. It's pretty long too. And it's certainly not a rip off since, since Lost Horizon is a book that was made into a movie in 1937. It has some flaws, but it's definitely one of the best adventure games I've played in the last few years.

Additionally, the Himalaya mountains aeroplane crash scene in IJ&tToD uses stock footage taken directly from the 1973 LH re-make.

FYI: This seems to be loosely based upon the novel Lost Horizon, by James Hilton, first published in 1933. It was first adapted for film in 1937 by Frank Capra, and then re-made (poorly, as a musical, of all damned things) in 1973. Although the novel peripherally deals with outside political forces and events, its true focus is the contrast between East and West, and the Contemplative Life vs. the Engaged Life. Hopefully, the game's credits will mention James Hilton.

@agricola It is 'slightly' related to the novel, though I've only watched the 1937 movie adaption. For instance, at the start of the movie, Robert Conway has to escape the China riots by plane (talked about in the game) halfway through the the journey, he discovers the pilot was killed by an Asian man, who unbeknownst to the passengers, has been taking them to the lost city the entire time. Robert Conway then rushes back into the cabin of the plane and says "Fenton Paddock (The pilot) is dead!"
