  • how long did it take to grow from baby plant to that big plant ? thank you

  • @codyakins375 I really can't say, but they do grow pretty fast, how fast will depend on the care.. since I I had a few in the greenhouse they grew pretty big in one season..

  • I self pollinated my p

Spider plants. When the flowers open swab as many flowers as you can and then re swab again just as a bee would mix pollen. The flower will grow into a seed instead of dieing and falling off. Email me if you need help vade248721@gmail.com

  • @vade248721 that is interesting would be fun to try but I really don't need anymore I am overloaded with spiders already these guys really are prolific..

  • How much can it take for a spider plant to throw some seeds?

And can I buy some seed from you its just I like the green only plant.

  • @CheeseXEmo , gosh I really can't answer that.. haven't noticed any for awhile but will let you know if so..

  • Oh ok and google chlorophytum comosum so u can see the other species ;) and again I luv ur plants!

  • Thanx and here's another question I have a small goldfish pond in my living room and i was wondering if i can just spill some water to my spider plants or if i have to purify it or something before...?

  • @Elboricuakool , I water from mine all the time.. I guess it is is too much the plant will show signs, but it seems to work great here..

  • thanx for ur vid the plants are really beautiful but i was just wondering, i have a pair of spider plants but they are different one has a white line in the middle while the other has two and a green line in the middle I just needed to know if there is any difference between them...

  • @Elboricuakool , well you would probably treat them pretty similar as far as care.. I haven't seen one of those..

  • thanks!

  • I have transplanted a baby with developed roots but not as good in your videos, today is in its first week, and I noticed some of the leaves starts to turn yellow, what could be the possible cause of this? I water it, and I'm scared that the plant would die... any advice from you? thanks!

  • @yunikz27 possibly overwatering or underwatering, only water when dry to the touch , by poking your finger in the soil ..

  • Well, thank you so much again for the answer.! :) How I wish I would be good as you in propagating this wonderful plants... Wish me luck for my success in propagating this house plants! thank you!

  • Thank you very much for the answer... But my spider plant don't seem to be good, brown spots on the leaves start to occur. Is it because of the tap water? I dig it with rain water last weekend knowing that it is sensitive in tap water. Can I use distilled water instead of rain water?

  • @yunikz27 yeah I would try distilled water, I use fish water and still have this happen..but mine are on the ends of the leaves, I just trim the ends off at a angle so the plant at least looks better..

  • Hello! just wanna ask on where's the best place to place spider plant so they can become healthy and give me some plantlets? and how many times will I water it? hope you can answer my question! by the way it is a very informative video! :D

  • @yunikz27 I have mine growing in a couple different places , one on the north side by a window and one in our home just with good lighting, both are doing fine, they don't appear to need direct light but in the greenhouse they did fine with it.. I water every week, but to tell if it needs watered is place your finger in the soil a couple inches if it feels dry water.. thanks for watching and hope this helps..

  • Great video. I have some spider plant babies that I have in water right now and I am planning to plant them this weekend. They look a little different than one in your video as they have a white stripe in the center...

Which variety seems to produce the most babies? Also is it true that they flower before they produce the babies? Or does the flowering only occur if they produce seeds?

  • @spywriter007 sorry this is late, I missed your comment.. I don't know but mine here produces way more babies than I need, mine is blooming on the stems that come out and produce the new babies they are actually doing this at the same time it appears..

  • did you say you use fish water?! as in aquarium water?. how do you extract seeds i have the Chlorophytum Comosum ocean it makes white flowers.

  • @Qnzstud69 , yes I have a 100 gallon tank in my patio and I use this water when I need to water my plants, it works great and is nutrient rich. I just let the plant do its thing by producing the baby spiders pretty soon the seeds just fall to the ground.. You could probably watch for them they should be black in color . hope this helps!

  • Hi I need some advice for growing my plant. It's indoors and was planted in a pot without drainage but it's not producing babies and the ends keep getting brown. I see when people have them indoors sometimes they don't appear have drainage, is that because they are already big? Should I move my plant to a pot with drainage? I'm trying to nurse it back to life!!!

  • @04Ammy04 , your plant will do much better with drainage holes, I mean any plant would, does it appear to be staying too wet? give it good lighting indoors..good luck!

  • Very informative, thanks! After watching that I'm going to try to plant a bunch of my spider babies today.

  • Thank you for your video! I just inherited a few baby spider plants and wasn't sure how to get them started in a pot, so seeing this refreshed my memory.

I would also recommend selling your baby spiders or giving them away through Craigslist or the Freecycle in your area. That is how I got mine. :) It's a great way to share the love of gardening!

  • @twigrat , thanks so much, I do sell them, I have more than I need at the moment.. and have given some away too.. this plant produces so many .. appreciate your comment and glad it helped you in some way today.. come by again!

  • Such a beautiful plant! I hope I can get mine looking like that some day.

  • PLEASE TELL ME HOW YOU GET THEM THAT BIG! please please please awnser

  • @TheNinjaBoy13 , I grew them in a greenhouse, then potted a couple larger plants in this large pot.. I use pond/fish water and they are in a cool area of our home with north facing exposure.. hope that helps!

  • Oh no! Don't compost them! If you have a craigslist close to your area, you should give them to people, or sell them for a small price.

Share the love of the house plants! :)

  • Thanks for showing your beautiful spider plant. I was wondering if the plantlets could be used as a border plant in shaded areas. If so, would they act as a perennial or an annual ?

  • @debihaley , depends on your zone.. they do not winter in my area, would work somewhat , worth a try but will send out runners but I guess you could cut them off if you wanted.. shaded area may not bring out the striping as well as some part sun area..

  • Hi I know this isn't really related to the video but my agriculture teacher gave me a Fertility plant, The roots haven't grown onh it yet, Because it's still a baby he told me to put it upright in the potting mix that I have, which I did because he helped me with it, and he told me to leave it alone, how long will it take for the roots to grow on it?

  • @JackieChan32295 , thanks for commenting, let me know the plant name I am not familiar with fertility plant.. should have another name.. thanks!

  • Thank you so much for the quick reply. I'll be doing it tonight, thanks again! :)

  • Once again, I don't understand what you mean by "you'll get a green one". You say it as an undesirable thing. Does that mean that I can't transplant the green babies??

  • @LimeGirl08 , they can seed back all green, they still grow and will work fine, I like the variegated ones much better as they stand out more. It is a matter of preference. You can transplant the green ones.:)

  • what is fish water? 2:58 ? nice spider plants!!!

  • @markelious , I use my fish water from my 100 gallon tank , I bring my pond goldfish in for the winter months and place inside my patio.. I actually done a video on this , it is good nutrient rich water. Thanks for asking and watching..

  • love this vidd now i no what plant ive ben growing for the last 3 years that is taking up space

  • @rusty6798 , glad it helped, and it does take up space.:)

  • Do you have a spider houseplant? Easy to grow for a starter plant indoors.
