Because Broad wasn't the cricketer then he is today, infact if anything those 6 6's helped him become an infinitely better and more cunning cricketer. Broad was young, and if you're getting smacked for 6's left right and centre with the potential of going for the full set (which he did) you're becoming emotional, getting frustrated/angry and not performing as you should.
