Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll.
Spent eight weeks in the top ten on CFUN 1410 AM in Vancouver, Canada, peaking at #4 for two weeks - going up and down like a yo-yo in the top ten - #4, #5, #7, #9, #6, #4, #8, #10 - and then spending another seven weeks on the local pop charts, fifteen weeks in total in the local top 40 in the winter of 1961.
While Hats Off to Larry was #1 for three weeks, this song spent more time in Vancouver's top ten, after Runaway.
I have just relived my teenage years, and my teenage wedding. 1964. I was 19 then, and my girl and I danced to all of Del's songs on our wedding night. We divorced 6years, and 3 children later. But we are still great friends, and I have just sent her Del's greatest hits only last year. Del helped to make the 60s what they were. THE BEST
It does sound a bit like that, but logically, it makes more sense with the line that follows to say: "I know why you cry" [because] "...my heart's been broken too." We know she's crying because he saw her tears at the beginning of the song, and he's trying to show sympathy and to console her.
This was the first single or record I bought. I was about 8 or 9, heard it on the radio and loved it. I am a big fan of Del's and it was great to see him eventually in Florida years later when I was on holiday from Australia. Not one of his big hits, but it has special significance for me!
del shannon was THE voice of the 60,s there was no-one better.when i hear him still- i am a kid again.unforgettable!!!!

I was lucky enough to see Del live on his last UK tour and he was superb. R.I.P to one of the greatest talents ever.

This song turned gold nevertheless, because it did much better in the British charts the following year.
