These Hunters Pay Big Bucks to hunt..The moose hunting alone is like 25 30 grand plus the cost of a Bear tag its a huge amount ..its not going to waste...

This guy did amazing, not long shots but made under pressure after likely a long hike... And yes you can eat bear meat by getting it butchered up like any other animal into the usual, sausages, ground meat, steaks and roasts... my personal favourite is take a bear roast and cook it in a crock pot covered in apple juice from a can for 10 hours its AMAZING

I've read up on Shockey's hunts and if the hunter doesn't want the meat then it gets butchered up and given to a local community sort of like a food bank.... and yes they can haul both those big animals out on the argo atv that Shockey always drives
@mikerstew This is called conservation, the region they are hunting in may have a high population of grizzly bears and it may be too condensed causing the herbivore population to decrease which will cause the predator population to decrease because there isn't enough prey for them. And how do you know they are not going to eat the bear, you can't just assume that. you're the kind of person that creates the ignorance that the anti hunters have and give them the ammo to use against hunters.

Lots of people i know eat bear it a lot like pork and they get it made mostly into sausage... not me, its not my favorite but i also know of people eating other carnivores such as cougar, which i have naver tried but i hear it is actually quite good.
bear is delicious especialy in the fall after fatening themselvs on berries(dont know about grizz dont have those here) and your right alot like pork the texture at least ,tastes alot like caribou..i never let bear meat go to waste if i hear someone has shot one or guide someone that does.
holy moly, you can eat bear? I was always taught that eating a land based carnivore was really bad for you. Thats why we dont eat bear, wolf, Lion and such. You can get Trichinosis from it, thats the reason why Muslims and Jews don't eat pork. Pretty sure that goes for any animal that eats other animals, not a 100% on that. But you can only get it from eating meat that is under cooked, so long as you cook it all the way through their isn't any health risks.

It just makes you cruel (saccadic). Just say you like to kill animals. A lot of serial murders did. I believe it is OK to hunt if you need food, if you got no other resources to buy or gain food, but the majority of the people who hunt dont need too, they just like to kill. You here that all the time on the hunting channels (they love the thrill of the kill).

Very, Very cruel. If you want meat you can go to the market and buy some. If you love the thrill of the kill, than join the Marines Like I did. If you get off on sneaking up on animals an killing them for fun rather than going to the market and buying some meat, than you really got some mental problems. Killing animals does not make you a Man, but a lot of men who hunt think it does.

u can eat a bear, but its too rich xD. In Jim shockeys hunting vids, he only hunts for a trophy, even when he guides other hunters.A 8x8 is an ex. Jim even saw a moose one time in alaska and he thinks it breaks the muzzleloader WR, but he shot another bull that looks like the 1 he saw & ties the WR. The one he really is after is still out there, but Jim will get him someday!!

Lots of people i know eat bear it a lot like pork and they get it made mostly into sausage... not me, its not my favorite but i also know of people eating other carnivores such as cougar, which i have naver tried but i hear it is actually quite good.

bear is delicious especialy in the fall after fatening themselvs on berries(dont know about grizz dont have those here) and your right alot like pork the texture at least ,tastes alot like caribou..i never let bear meat go to waste if i hear someone has shot one or guide someone that does.

holy moly, you can eat bear? I was always taught that eating a land based carnivore was really bad for you. Thats why we dont eat bear, wolf, Lion and such. Even predatory birds such as hawk and eagle are supposed to make you sick. Not one to call someone a lier, so I guess I learned something new today!

You can get Trichinosis from it, thats the reason why Muslims and Jews don't eat pork. Pretty sure that goes for any animal that eats other animals, not a 100% on that. But you can only get it from eating meat that is under cooked, so long as you cook it all the way through their isn't any health risks.

Mr 1realtree. This sport does not benefit from idiots like you or him. Maybe someday you can graduate to a point and understand that hunting isn't a sport that needs to be video taped. It is pretty obvious to me that you are one of the guys who sit around and watch this shit almost daily. Get a life. I agree with you,I would feel pretty shitty about killing the bear too, you cant eat it so why kill it? I'm a spearo,so I am plenty used to hunting, but I can never appreciate the hunting of bears, wolves etc, unless it is causing damage to livestock or the likes. It would be like spearing a big shark, some do, but its frowned upon.

I am responding to this as a sportsman, guide, and ethical sportsman. Jim Shockey has no business representing any part of the shooting sports industry. Have you ever watched his show...? A true embarrassment to hunters worldwide. It all starts with the beginning of his show when it shows him standing there with a dumb look on his face with a fresh scope bite mark on his forehead. Check out the video of him hunting with his father some time. This guy should stay in town where he belongs.
