Some say that if we have it playing but not chanting it, it will still work (although hard to have "intention" if it's only playing in the background). I downloaded the 108 repetitions, but it's 1 hr, which is quite a long time to chant plus my meditation.Any suggestions (and is doing the 9 times version AS effective as doing it 108 times or will it take longer b/c it's diluted)? It is Karma.... No mantra can help Karma. Only Bhakti can. Mantras are used as a tool in Bhakti. Some people often get confused. You can rid yourself of remaining Karma by doing Japa using mantras... but if you are doing japa using mantras to get rid of your bad Karma then you will be unsuccessful. You must do it to do it. Ex. to give a teacher a complement to expect an A grade is foolish. To give a teacher a complement and do well in there class will give you a guaranteed A.

Hi Jan, mantras generally work on a subtle level. 40 days to 6 months, sometimes longer, depending on the nature of the problem & the karmic debt involved, of course there's Divine Grace. The impossible can be made possible and vice versa. If you are asking for an ideal love & this man does not fit that, your intention/prayers will repel this relationship, unless there is some lesson or debt to be worked out. Keep praying as you feel drawn to go within & attract better when the time is right

The best way in my opinion is to keep it playing in your home for as long possible at least for 40 days. The Lord Kamdeva wud bring u a loving guy. I was told by my Pandit friend from India online too, it is ok for women to chant "Gayatri Mantra" after menopause (side effects being possibly developing mense irregularities/masculine traits). Hi Calgirls, attraction is probably from some past karmic tie. Is best not to create adverse karma or you'll have to deal again in a situation like this. If he is already committed to marry another is better to respect that. What resists persists and can boomerang like rubber band so try to witness the mind's obsession. Hi Shivaniblessme, if there is a karmic propensity between the both of you, it will tend to re-ignite love and strengthen it; sometimes it is instant and sometimes it takes time. If the karmic ties/lessons are completed, it won't work against a person's free will. It would then help draw someone else to you if your intent was open to this.

Hi Gita, If 108 repetitions is too many to do each day, you can chant as little as 9 a day (or multiples of 9 [9 is an auspicious]) for at least 40 days or better to chant until you succeed.
Try not to, but if you miss a day, you can pick back up and continue from where you are; but if you miss more days, it may be best to start over (listen to your inner guidance).

It will help to keep/increase the love (and can also help ease any difficult karmic lessons between [but sometimes in life, one may learn after some hard knocks]). This will also help to feel the Love of the Divine that is within, outside and beyond.

Hi Rhodes, the net is full of contradictory info. This is not a vashikaran mantra and does not have the purpose to manipulate others (although some may try to use it that way, but there is the law of karma to be dealt with).
This is a Gayatri (a Vedic metereded hymn [prayer]) to the aspect of God as Love (like Cupid).
On the surface, it can be chanted to help with human love (when our actions alone remain fruitless), but it can also be chanted to find that complete Divine Love within.

Hi Miza, pronunciation is important and will come with practice, repetition, but more important is intention, devotion and faith. Divine will understand and a true heart can make up for any mispronunciation.
There are some mantras where mispronunciation could have a negative effect but those are kept secret unless a guru gives them to you.

Kama is the god of love. It depends what your intention is when you chant it, be it lust/worldly love (increasing your current love or bringing in new love) or more preferably Transcendental Love (which deliver one from material hankerings). Lord Krishna can be worshiped through the Kama-Gayatri.
If it were not for the physical union between some souls here, neither could we be here nor great saints born to guide us. It's how it is used. Middle path of extremes or transcendence if a sanyasin.

Hi ssvenks, Kama is God of Love. I don't know if he works on parents accepting their childrens' love. In Indian mythology, Shiva did reduce Kama to ashes for interrupting his meditation by shooting an error in his heart for Parvati but Shiva did bring him back to represent true love not merely lust. Krishna can be worshiped through Kama. Krishna is the 8th avatar of Vishnu.

This mantra will be used for bad purposes. So many people ask if they can enjoy short term benefits. I still believe it is dangerous to be put on youtube. Kamdev causes lust & true love is only possible by worship of god. People who say here that mantra works make it worse for others to go for short term benefits. Karma causes attraction & repulsion. It is natural process let it do it course. I do not mean u harm lilasakura but please think of consequences. Let nature do its course.

Hi Lila, Thanks for posting this! I read all the comments. Some say that if we have it playing but not chanting it, it will still work (although hard to have "intention" if it's only playing in the background). I downloaded the 108 repetitions, but it's 1 hr, which is quite a long time to chant plus my meditation.Any suggestions (and is doing the 9 times version AS effective as doing it 108 times or will it take longer b/c it's diluted)? Thanks for any insight you may be able to provide!

It is Karma.... No mantra can help Karma. Only Bhakti can. Mantras are used as a tool in Bhakti. Some people often get confused. You can rid yourself of remaining Karma by doing Japa using mantras... but if you are doing japa using mantras to get rid of your bad Karma then you will be unsuccessful. You must do it to do it. Ex. to give a teacher a complement to expect an A grade is foolish. To give a teacher a complement and do well in there class will give you a guaranteed A.

With intentions, a mantra may be useless. When using a mantra without expectations is when it is fruitful. To use this mantra in ways other than to worship Kama Deva, you will be wasting time unless it is heavily used like severe penance. Hi Jan, mantras generally work on a subtle level. 40 days to 6 months, sometimes longer, depending on the nature of the problem & the karmic debt involved, of course there's Divine Grace. The impossible can be made possible and vice versa. If you are asking for an ideal love & this man does not fit that, your intention/prayers will repel this relationship, unless there is some lesson or debt to be worked out. Keep praying as you feel drawn to go within & attract better when the time is right

naffoulat: I think Lila Sakura in response to Mamuay's query has beautifully explained the procedure with clear intention keeping in mind while chanting. u too try it the same way. The best way in my opinion is to keep it playing in your home for as long possible at least for 40 days. The Lord Kamdeva wud bring u a loving guy. It happens really believe me.Just keep patience and stop thinking about anything else than the sound or lyrics of the mantra. Try to sing with it.

I was told by my Pandit friend from India online too, it is ok for women to chant "Gayatri Mantra" after menopause (side effects being possibly developing mense irregularities/masculine traits). But others say it is ok in Kali Yuga. Not everyone has access to ask a guru, so what does inner voice tell you? Hi Calgirls, attraction is probably from some past karmic tie. Is best not to create adverse karma or you'll have to deal again in a situation like this. If he is already committed to marry another is better to respect that. What resists persists and can boomerang like rubber band so try to witness the mind's obsession. Chant the mantra with prayer and intention to either Kama/Krishna/Divine to work through you to get through this that you wait and open for the right love.

Hi Shivaniblessme, if there is a karmic propensity between the both of you, it will tend to re-ignite love and strengthen it; sometimes it is instant and sometimes it takes time. If the karmic ties/lessons are completed, it won't work against a person's free will. It would then help draw someone else to you if your intent was open to this.

Hi Gita, If 108 repetitions is too many to do each day, you can chant as little as 9 a day (or multiples of 9 [9 is an auspicious]) for at least 40 days or better to chant until you succeed.
Try not to, but if you miss a day, you can pick back up and continue from where you are; but if you miss more days, it may be best to start over (listen to your inner guidance).

Hi Rhodes, the net is full of contradictory info. This is not a vashikaran mantra and does not have the purpose to manipulate others (although some may try to use it that way, but there is the law of karma to be dealt with).
This is a Gayatri (a Vedic metereded hymn [prayer]) to the aspect of God as Love (like Cupid).
On the surface, it can be chanted to help with human love (when our actions alone remain fruitless), but it can also be chanted to find that complete Divine Love within.

Hi Miza, pronunciation is important and will come with practice, repetition, but more important is intention, devotion and faith. Divine will understand and a true heart can make up for any mispronunciation.
There are some mantras where mispronunciation could have a negative effect but those are kept secret unless a guru gives them to you.

Kama is the god of love. It depends what your intention is when you chant it, be it lust/worldly love (increasing your current love or bringing in new love) or more preferably Transcendental Love (which deliver one from material hankerings). Lord Krishna can be worshiped through the Kama-Gayatri.
If it were not for the physical union between some souls here, neither could we be here nor great saints born to guide us. It's how it is used. Middle path of extremes or transcendence if a sanyasin.

For Calgirls: wanting to dissolve your karma is a great spiritual desire and quest. From what I have learned from the enlightened spiritual Masters I have been a student of, plus direct experience from following their directions, is that karma CAN be dissolved EVENTUALLY, but only through spiritual practices as laid out by the Master you have chosen to devote yourself to. Hi ssvenks, Kama is God of Love. I don't know if he works on parents accepting their childrens' love. In Indian mythology, Shiva did reduce Kama to ashes for interrupting his meditation by shooting an error in his heart for Parvati but Shiva did bring him back to represent true love not merely lust. Krishna can be worshiped through Kama. Krishna is the 8th avatar of Vishnu.
