I have one, this is a good sailplane, I am also thinking change the prop. from 12x6 to 13x8. And I have to agree..., this music is a little gay !!!! Next time use Samba from Brazil.

OK after listening to it again it may not be the heaviest of metal... I liked the text of the song altough.
The Cularis is great. I had some hard times on the first flights. Main errors were: throwing to steep into the sky - stall - crash.
Having the 12x6 prop which is standard is not good! With the original motor and ESC the 14x6 folding prop is much better (and doesn't overload the motor!).
It's a good thing to have a strong motor on the start.

It's not that hard to fly this, you know? It's a motorized glider, it's very stable, very easy to handle. As a matter of fact, building it requires way more skill than flying it.

das kann ich jetzt nicht mit zahlen/fakten beantworten. Dafür könnte man evtl. einen DriveCalc hernehmen.
Subjektiv: auch mit 200g Zuladung steigt die Cularis jetzt auch mit dem standard-MPX Motor recht flott auf!
Vor dem Upgrade hab ich bei Nutzlast schon ein paar recht wackelige Starts gemacht (bei einem bin ich abgestürzt).

Anscheinend laut Propcalc rein rechnerisch: statt 1,18kg Standschub ca. 1,31kg
Also etwas mehr Schub (10%) - in der Praxis hat es sich aber wesentlich mehr angefühlt.

ich seh grad, mit einer einfachen Küchenwaage und einer Seilzug Vorrichtung hab ich ein Standschub experiment gemacht:
mit 12x6er LS: 22amp, ca. 600g Schub
14x6er LS: 30amp und ca. 1050g Schub
Das würde meine Praxis-Erfahrung schon eher bestätigen, dass es mehr als nur 10% sind - ist aber alles zugegeben relativ ungenau gemessen :-)

ca 1623g (mit 226g akku)
heute bin ich mit zusätzlich 180g (GoPro Hero HD Cam) geflogen - ist dann zwar kein richtiger Segler mehr, aber es geht)
Wichtig war das Umsteigen von der orig. 12x6 auf eine 14x6 Klappluftschraube. Sonst hab ich nichts geändert (Motor und Regler halten das locker aus).
