  • I have questions about your conclusions. 1) If a bear climbed this tree, how could it climb if its fingers are pointing up right? 2) Why would a bear rotate a branch rather than just use its own weight to break the branch? 3) If a bear climbed the tree what was it escaping or going after?

  • Claw marks on aspen trees can often still be legible years after they are made. They appear a dark scars with each digit discernible. May not help to find the bear that made it but it lets you know they frequent that area. Just something I've noticed working in the bush.
