Ο Πόππερ διατύπωσε τη συγκεκριμένη άποψη για τις μη-εμπειρικές/μεταφυσικές θεωρίες και όχι για τις μη εμπειρικές προτάσεις τις οποίες θεώρησε αναπόσπαστο μέρος της επιστημονικής θεωρίας.
