The case you are talking about is D.C. vs. Heller which STRENGHTENED the 2nd ammendment by saying that even if a town, state, or district wans to completely ban weapons, it can't becuse it is a violation of the constituion. That case proves my point that the 2nd is probably the strongest and least contested ammendment in the bill of rights. Nobody is trying to take your guns.
Right, they took down the gun ban. They established what the amendment meant, and in a sense, strengthened it. However, if one more person voted against it, the ban would stand and the second amendment would have been said to not give citizens the right to blah, blah, blah... if that happened then The second amendment wouldnt really be doing anything, making our guns a WIDE open target. And there are plenty of people who would leap at the opportunity.

If DC won, then the amendment is useless, if we cant own guns as an individual, how can we at all? There would be NOTHING keeping guns safe. The war for petrol argument is absolutely amateur, you would get laughed out of any academic discussion with that point. The case you are talking about is D.C. vs. Heller which STRENGHTENED the 2nd ammendment by saying that even if a town, state, or district wans to completely ban weapons, it can't becuse it is a violation of the constituion. That case proves my point that the 2nd is probably the strongest and least contested ammendment in the bill of rights. Nobody is trying to take your guns.

Right, they took down the gun ban. They established what the amendment meant, and in a sense, strengthened it. However, if one more person voted against it, the ban would stand and the second amendment would have been said to not give citizens the right to blah, blah, blah... if that happened then The second amendment wouldnt really be doing anything, making our guns a WIDE open target. And there are plenty of people who would leap at the opportunity.

One person could sew(sp?) an entire state for allowing their citizens to have guns with the sole intent to kill(which would be a lie) and get away with it because there is no law saying that we could have them(the second amendment).
