I don't care how good either guitar player can play solos, but kirk in my opinion is better. It's about who can make the better sounding riffs and solos and kirk nails that aspect all the time, plus he plays with emotion. From what I've seen from eddie, i don't see any emotion in his solos or riffs.

when your talking about soloing in heavy metal your talkng about scales being played rapidly. Well those scale have a rigid set of individual notes that make up the scale. When the scale is being played out of tune, it is being played with any old set of notes that don't gel well together, and that is what I'm essentially talking about here. It then makes the whole solo off key to what the key the song is being played in. And any old hack can do that.

Do you ever notice that these heavy metal guitar players never solo in tune to the key that the song is being played in. not that there's one being played in the background here, but in general, I've noticed that. They are always way flat or sharp or even in a completely diffferent key alltogether.

I'm not talking about playing in a complimentary key that adds a harmonic value or in a higher or lower octave, I'm talking about playing in the WRONG key, or playing flat or sharp, where their guitars aren't tuned right, where it sounds like shit. Metal heads need to learn music and not just technique. there are rules to music to follow that are tried, true and tested. You can't just play 32nd and 64th notes in any old key you like, and then call yourself a virtuoso.
