beautiful song... and video is okay, but why put Condeleza Rice in it. Just because someone is successful and black it doesn't make them an honorable person
@resident121 Well that's true; but she is the first African-American woman to be the United States Secretary of State. Not only that but she grew up in Montgomery; where she was close friends w/ the 4 young girls who were killed in the church bombing that Dr. King eulogized, which lead her family to be one of his largest supporters and a voice in the Civil Rights Movement.
So yes, some may dislike her; but in my view, she's a very important person in Black American history.
Thank you very much for posting this beautiful song and video. "For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others."
Hey I need help. Can you tell me the story about the two sportsmen at 02:08 who raise their hands? I think it was at the olympic games, right? And something with their socks.... Please give me names or a date if possible...
@UriosDerBaer That's Tommie Smith and John Carlos at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico. The fist raise is of course the symbol of "Black Power" and the Civil Rights Movement. They were raising their hands in opposition of American racism/segregation and to show that despite whites seeing blacks as inferior, they could excel in anything they tried.
Great song, good homage to these successful people. You got Steve in there...But where's Bernie Mac??? Oh no, you can't leave his ass out. That's the ORIGINAL King of Comedy right there. Thanks for the video
@maureeses I definitely agree with you; Bernie Mac IS a comedy legend! But I didn't put Steve in the video just because he happened to be an accomplished comedian/actor; but because he also has had extraordinary success as a best-selling author and nationally televised radio show host as well. So I'm not saying Bernie wasn't great; it was just that Steve's had a broader influence.

Hurray!!! I first heard this song on cool movie called ''Our Friend Martin'' I thought it was magnificent then, and I do now. ''And When the long Night has been fought and won, we'll stand in the Sun.'' It brings a tear to my eye, then and now.
This Song remembers me of everything that is passed in my life and was oh so good. And I'am proud that we will have now a man called Barack Obama as the President of the United States of America. I'll hope he brings good to the world. And for all the people that brought us so much joy in our lives. Thank you all!
Yea, the same here. I just happened to be watching it one night this year, and I thought to myself "This would make a great idea for a Black History Month video"....and well, here it is, lol. :)
WOW!! Thank you so much. That means a lot to me; to know that something I did is being displayed in a positive and empowering light. Once again; thank you!!
lol, yea. Definitely! My college is funding a trip to take all us students up to Washington D.C. for the inaugration; but I'm gonna be going with my family.
