  • A couple of people have commented on this now, so I figured I would explain a bit more about the TIP. Rather than create a rule about stem ties being better than branch ties, I think its best said that you should use a TIP that is sufficient to hold your weight, both at full load and in a shock load. In the video, the branches being used are large enough and configured well to do both. Branches growing in two different directions, ensures that my lanyard stays on the branch collar.

  • Iv just passed Ma cs38 tree climbing n ariel rescue course and wen anchoring in the tree u should go around the stem n not limbs same applys wen changing systems on and connectin ya lanyard.

  • No offense man, whilst what your doing is fine, as this is a kinda tutorial video you should encourage action like putting your lanyard around the stem not 2 opposing branches, the same for your anchor go around the stem not a side branch is always best practice. Although what your anchored to is still mighty strong.
