saw them at Glastonbury and loved them. Booked for Manchester Catherdal. You're right. they are fabulous and cross over different genres. The closest to their voices are The Associates from the 80's. Billy Mackenzies voice was very high and similar. But unfortunately, their 80's production isn't up to the Wild Beasts. Great tunes though and well worth a delve. Look out for Party Fear Two and Club Country for starters. both should be on Youtube. Take it easy!

@PhilSanger That sounds like it would be AWESOME. This song is already goosebump-inducing, but add aerial performance to that... I feel like crying with emotion just imagining it.
@viKtorK Yes, the whole album (Two Dancers) is amazing. I haven't stopped listening to it for two months and I'm still not bored of it. Their previous album is a little more erm ... 'creative', but Brave Bulging Buoyant Clarevoyants, The Devil's Crayon and His Grinning Skull are every bit as good as anything on their second album. They are a very special group.
@fancythathat I was just thinking yesterday that we don't have an American Beatles, Pink Floyd, and whatnot. Something must have truly been in the water in the UK.
@bobizme11 they're both great in their own rights...how dare u....just because a mojrity rule caused the xx to get the mercury (the WELL-DESERVED mercury since they in my opinion have more talent than the wild beast could ever dream of) doesn't make them " cunts". In fact ur comment makes u a cunt....appreciate both bands for their equal and different talents...cunt
@empressnaj813 I completely agree with you about the use of the 'c' word ... maybe he/she was being deliberately tongue-in-cheek, I don't know ..... but I'm personally enjoying the second Wild Beasts' album much more than The XX Mercury prize winning one. They're not lacking in talent. I really love certain tracks on XX in the way that I love certain tracks on the first Wild Beasts' album (Brave Bouncing Bouyant Clairvoyants in particular) ... but WB's second album is a particularly strong one.
idk if its just me...but many bands from the UK seem to be more...unique among themselves? if that makes any sense..typically i enjoy their music more.
Now there are bands like Explosions in the Sky that i find hard to believe are from the States, but glad we got some talent:p.
I love the melodies and the vocals, but I can't understand why it hasn't gotten any traction stateside at all. Can anyone enlighten me with something more than "They suck...?"
I'm 25 years old. I take great pride in just how many genres of music i have delved in. But the Wild Beasts are unlike anything I've heard. Every word impeccably placed in each beautiful harmony (NOT SONG.HARMONY!) . And the true beauty of this group?
