  • just bought my first classic car today, 1965 impala 2 door... thanks for the lessions.

  • you are amazing :) keep up the good work !

  • What needs to be done before this step as far as prepping goes? Does the old

Paint/primer need to be taken off? I have an old wagon I just bought that has moderate surface rust on hood and roof but paint is good in some spots and not so good on others. I'm wanting to repaint the whole car but want to address the rust first. Also do you use the same wire disc on a flat surface?

  • @Forgottenophelia Strip your vehicle to bare metal with aircraft stripper or you can have it soda blasted, then move on to this step. Pete

  • i use a knotted wire wheel on a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder, you need a face sheild as well as full goggles for that s.o.b, them wires fly off are a brisk rate, they stick into your skin good, very good for getting heavy pitted rust form suspension parts

newbie tip: always pay attention to which way your wheel is turning and try not to gring towards an open lip, always going off it or it will kick back, if its fast enough it will hit you in the face, i had that happen when i wasn't paying att.

  • The reversing the drill tip is a good one.

  • @gratefuldead42022 Yes it is a good tip. Its just like what you do with block sanding you going back and forth but with a drill one way for a short then the otherway.
