Could have been sure but was not and will never be known as one of the best defenders. He had the attributes sure, but as you pointed out injuries finnished him of, owen atleast had a couple of years at the very top.

What i mean to say is that even dow i enjoy the spannish leauge the ref holds low standard, its very hard for a player/defender to adapt if he is used to the life in germany/england. You never see a player dominating in spain coming from germany or england. Dont you agree?
