  • @SinnFein4ever If you cut cold onions...no tears. Just keep the onions in the fridge.

  • @eduardofl32828

    I do.

It still makes my eyes water.

    The purple ones, that is.

(purple onions and green onions are the only kinds that I use)

  • @sammybamby @sammybamby Har! Well it is a pretty simple recipe. It's the one I make when I'm in a hurry. One of these days I am going to post my "Sunday go to meeting" chile that I make for company and when I want a treat. it is even better. Thanks for commenting!

  • @iwphilosophy It was the first video we did. We are learning.

  • Chili, fries, and pepperjack cheese=CHILI CHEESE FRIES!!!! YUMMMM!!

  • @mercyhurstchic Sounds great! I will have to try it. Have you tried the Canadian dish Poutine? Fries, cheese curds and gravy. Way better than it sounds!

  • @treasurer6 I love poutine!

  • @treasurer6 ..... YES,,,, I have tried it. I am actually a french canadian living in Peru and I usually bring the powder to make the sauce. The only problem is the cheese..... There's no curds here..... Hahahahaha..... I am using the so call Queso Fresco.... Or fresh cheese.... My wife loves it!!!

  • @mercyhurstchic You are making me hungry.

  • With the wine, we tend to put a nice fruity Merlot in our chili for a robust and profound flavor.

  • Sounds good. Personally, if I cook with a strong tasting dish like chili I like to add Zinfandel. I find it stands up well.

  • perfecto muy buena receta

  • Its nice to see a man in the kitchen! I'll be trying this recipe soon (:

  • Great Chili ... Awesome host love your video and the music is all that(lol)

  • You should pour off your grease in a container and dispose of it, otherwise the grease will harden and clog your drain.

  • You´re a good man ! God bless you :-) and by the way your chilli is GREAT

  • Trust me, the Chili is considerably better food than I am a good man! Thanks for the thought though.

  • this was very helpful, thanks

  • Try leaving the root end on the onion next time. The only time you should cut it off first is if you're looking for rings. If you're chopping, dicing, etc, leave the root there.

Cut it in half from top to bottom, so that each half still has root connected. Lay the half down flat, then make vertical slices almost to the root. Then make perpendicular slices to that, and you have a perfectly diced onion.

(I know it's odd to picture, there are plenty of videos on the technique)

  • 3:14 And than you trow it on the ground.. That's for a extra bite :P

  • Only the best for my friends!

  • Mmm, I'm having this for dinner today!

  • This is a good one , i have made 2 pots of chilli and i have found that onions are the way to go , a lot of onions , i also use red kidney beans and black beans only , i do not like using white type beans .

  • Thanks! I don't care too much for white beans either. However, I do like pinto beans. Give them a try sometime.

  • Still best Chili on youtube amigo, last superbowl it was for 15 people, cooked for alost 3 hours and real chili and jalapeno pepers added.

  • Wow I'm blushing.

  • LOL I like the 10 second rule..

  • This was the first video we made. We were surprised how much fun it was.

  • Great video. I am a terrible cook but I made this and it turned out ok, I was surprised. It is a foolproof recipe, thanks for sharing. Btw, what is the song playing in the background?.

  • Thanks for letting me know how it turned out. As for the music, there were several songs playing over the video, we just listen to old music while cooking.

  • Yes! We made this recipe tonight! Only difference we didn't use meat (Bocca Soy Crumblers instead) and we added red and green bell peppers.

    Absolutely perfect meal. Thanks!

  • I love it when people change recipes to make the recipes more to their tastes! Thanks so much for letting me know how you varied it. I have vegetarian friends and will try your method when I cook for them.

  • Sir, look at my chili con carne video!!!

  • Looks like the real thing. I will have to give it a try.

  • thanks sir! Greetings from Spain!

  • Great food and Rod Stewart is great too

  • Har! The oldies are the best! The music is good too.

  • Great! Keep on cooking and changing it the way you like! Try adding chopped up chiles or raw onion and cheese on top at the end or anything you think would taste great. Thanks for letting me know how it turned out.

  • I honestly never cooked before in my life but I managed to make this chilli following this steps. It turned out great the only thing is that I exagerated on the powdered chilli :D...

  • 3:13

and then put it back in the pot...

  • ooooommmmmgggg im ur biggest fan :D:D:D:D:D:D I LOve u u must be the king of chili con carne!!!

  • Thanks for your opinion but this is the way I like it. That's the great part of cooking for yourself, you make it the way you like it!

  • i donno how you make chili but all the chili iv tryed have onion and im from europe XD

  • Chili is not a European dish, so what's your point?

  • i didnt say it was european but someware it says that only usa put onions but i live in europe nd it has onions

  • onion is the main base of chili, that makes the nice thick sause for the dish

I used to work in a Mexican restaurant here in Europe learned from Mexican head chef, don`t take me wrong but I think you should read some cook books about your own national cusine

trust me,I am a pro chef and this man just cook it right

  • Onion is not used in traditional chili. I don't care what you learned in Europe. Chili served in Mexico and the Southwest does not have onions in it.

  • i think you do have onion

  • If you add a little salt to the onions it prevents them from browning too quickly.

  • Great tip! Thank you!

  • No worries, I could talk for hours about making chilli, I grow chilli peppers at home as well. Thanks for a good vid mate.

  • MMM! Fresh hot chilis. I've grown a few in my green house but they don't do well outside here in the Canadian mountains. I'm jealous.

  • I don't wanna teach anyone to suck eggs but I've found an Indian 'Red chilli powder' here in the uk, which is pure ground dried red chillis. I then add the other herbs and spices usually in chilli powder (Cumin, Cilantro, oregano etc.) to taste. I think I'm gonna make a Chilli recipe vid myself. Thanks again for the vid. p.s. I normally add beer to mine as well cos I find it works well with the beef stock/oxo thing very well.

  • The recipe in the video is an easy version for the theme of my videos. I like to use beef and pork and I use beef stock for a base. I do use chili powder but I also like to add some oregano and basil. Let me know if you do a video, I'd love to see it.

  • a wet towel under your chopping board will stop the board from sliding around

  • its funny how you drain off the fats!! but for real i learn alot from this video.. keep it up..

  • Thanks so much!

  • lol

  • brilliant

    thank you

  • Har! Thanks!

  • Nothing like cooking chili and listening to the Stones, great vid! Also, the obscene jesture thing was great!!

  • Thanks for the kind words!

  • Ten second rule? I won't be eating any birthday cake at his house.

  • The music has to go.

  • he is not going to use all the onion? even though he says you must have lots of onions? WTF? lets make chili not sit here and waste my precious youtube time chopping some lame onions.!

  • go blow yourself. it was a fine video. nice work, poster!

  • lol i use the 10 second rule all the time! I've watched all of your videos, they are great!!!

  • How generous! Thanks.

  • Don't pour the fat down the sink or else it will block your drain!!!

  • I was at my friends, let his drain clog!

  • Hey, that's my drain you're talking about!

(truth be known, it's a garburator, no harm done)

  • Use about 2 tablespoons of dehydrated onions instead. You'll get the taste but won't even notice they are there.

  • The recipe sounds so good, and I just love chili, but I hate onions. Would it taste like crap without them?

  • 10 second rule on the floor made me laugh, good stuff,I can almost smell it over the internet!

  • Thanks!

  • this guy should have his own cooking show

  • I can say this a great recipe!
