I like the song a lot, but I decided to watch it again while listening to Paradise by The Dashboard Light (I have to learn it for a gig...that's the only reason why I don't have the volume up....) anyway, the choreography matches up almost perfect:)
This song is fantastic! I'm in love with it right now! The dance is beautifully choreographed, fits well with the music, and the dancers look gorgeous! :-)
i got ti actually meet shaun barrowes and i am going to perform with him to night he is really cool and really nice, he sounds more amazing live and he is unbeleivably talented at piano
we're fighting to be people of integrity . we join forces with angels around us for strength in the battle against darkness. to be as virtuous as an army of Kings.
There it is 30 words... I have a longer description on your myspace page.
I am a King. What am I doing? I must stand taller. I want to be a force for good in this world, and how can I do that if I compromise my virtue?
I hope 34 words is acceptable. It’s rather difficult to keep it strictly under 30 words and still convey the meaning of what I want to say. This song has many different thoughts and feelings in it. But I like it; it reminds me of who I am and makes me want to stand a little taller.
This almost made me cry. I love the song and the choreography is amazing. :) It has a few meanings to me because of where I'm at in life and the fights that myself and my loved ones have gone through. I have a lot military people in my family too, so I related to this as well from my brother who served in iraq and is still fighting residual battles from that. Thank you for this. :)
we have struggles and battles we go in life and no matter what if we trust in our one and only King, He will protect us...oh and i absolutely love this song :))
We are not alone in this spiritual battle or any battle for that matter. We have the most powerful warriors on our side-angels and "our" King of Kings.
If we give into the pulls and temptations of the world around us and fall, we become a stain on all of those people went before us who didn't fall, who chose to fight and not give into temptation. It is up to us to follow their examples and fight as they did- as soldiers joining forces with angels who help us stay true to what we are- kings and queens of a royal inheritance. And then if we do decide to fight and become soldiers then we can share the light and help others become soldiers too.
Despite the test of breakdowns, I will keep my integrity- even when lured by the build-ups of mankind I will continue to fight for the King of all Kings. Lest I incur a Permanent Fall.
On a side note I was thinking of this song last night- when I BROKE DOWN on the 405. Nightmare! But as we remember who we really are, we too can be comforted like the servant of Elisha to know that, “they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”
Awesome. Life, and living up to the Standards set for us, temptation, physical pulls, and help from the other side to stay strong, live up to our true selves.
Shaun this song is absolutely fabulous! If we allow ourselves to loose control, we’d become like empty vessels having nothing left and feeling worthless at the end. Let's join forces to become conquerors!
Army of Kings, all soldiers are joining forces to become one. The thought behind this is portrayed very well in the choreo. Amazing. The Angels are the Army of Kings.
Everyone is a soldier. Throughout all of our decisions, right or wrong, in opposition or together, we make up something great. We make up the "Army of Kings." Love it.
Army of Kings is a great song full of soul to show what happens when something powerful becomes destroyed. It is such a powerful inspiring work of art. :)
I liked how at the beginning there were red lights in the background to catch your attention and the dancer's had an older day army look to them. I loved the swift moving dancers and how you stayed in the background and set the focus to the dancers while still engaging.
Sweet! Not many new songs sing about anything but romance or violence these days. It is so refreshing to hear one about something else. This one, I think, is about the universal struggle between good and evil that we are all fighting. I especially like the idea that we succeed by being more than just a follower, but a leader, a king, setting high expectations for ourselves and others. Each time we go above and beyond doing good we become one of the angels among us, part of an army of kings!
Honestly, what doesnt Mandy Moore do? She sings, acts and choreographs?? Its amazing, as is the song! I loved the concert when Shaun came to my High School
@thatemilygirl101 There are actually 2 famous Mandy Moores- the singer and actor and then the choreographer. I thought they were the same person too until I took a class from the choreographer. Either way, they are both amazing! (mandy moore the choreographer is a little more amazing to me though) =)
Respond to this video... There are actually 2 famous Mandy Moores- the singer and actor whom we all know and then the choreographer who everyone thinks is the singer and actor but they are two different people. I thought they were the same person too until the choreographer came to our studio and did a number for us. Either way, they are both amazing. =) (the choreographer is a little more amazing to me though) =)
Wow, great song. It's obviously about two hobbits fighting over the shire and has a metaphorical twist that juxtaposes the different conundrums inherent in hobbit society. Brilliant!
Shaun. I believe this song is about freedom, how far we've come and what it has taken to contain the freedom that we have. The army of kings is the people that appreciate this freedom and its cost and those who actually do what is needed to keep it. If the army of kings, lets that freedom slip through their fingers all is lost and they are nothing. Those that have given it up, have nothing to show for it, those that have striven to contain it are backed and supported by angels.
Wow! I'm totally amazed. You never cease to amaze me Mr. Barrowes.
This song is about our potential to become a powerful army of kings for the cause of good and forces that threaten to keep us from reaching that potential.
My high school just did a concert with Shaun Barrowes last month. I couldn't attend, but I was so inpired by the videos of their performance that I used this song to accompany a video presentation that I made about my major: Writing, Rhetoric, and Technical Communication (WRTC). It's a new major on campus and no one really knows what it is. My professor liked my presentation so much he presented it at an open house for the university and hopefully it'll appear on our website soon!
To me this song represents: The battle to find and hold onto love in a world trying to tear at all good things. The imagery of angels among us, joining in the fight for happiness and love is awesome!
@Inkingcap I thought so, too, and I liked the idea that being a leader, or a king, you know being a good example is how we succeed in this battle. One of my favorite songs, too!
Though we may fall in battle and become a stain we are warrior kings. And to fight with angels, then, we have a noble calling. One that is greater than ourselves.
The rhythm is very captivating, Shaun's voice is clear and instills resolution with the dancing reinforcing this idea. Excellent job, I was soon in love with it.
Very well done. I really loved it and also it was wonderful to not only see the girls so devoted to the choreograpy, but the men as well. When you have that much passion from all of the dancers, beautiful dances can be made. Good job to everyone who worked on that video. One thing though... Why weren't you dancing Shaun? lol ;)
