Of pretty much every metal band I can think of, nightwish is the only one I would expect to be able to cover that song, even though I find them annoying. I think it's a pretty good cover. They capture the melancholic energy in the chorus very well, but it's not the same as Floyd, that managed to get that energy even without the use of strong drums or electric guitars.

Awesome! I love it! Never heard of Pink Floyd's original before I heard this one first and instantly fell in love with it. I love everything about it including the bells. :) Marco's voice is great. And imagine someone waltz in here like me who never seen Marco perform before but loves heavy metal music. I was awestruck. I think he sings and looks awesome like a viking. This is really good ,amazing in fact but it doesn't beat Pink Floyds version please don't think i'm trying to troll on this video because i'm really not its very good better than most covers it has feeling but its lacking that tiny piece that Gilmour puts into the song i find the original/gilmour version to be much more light , suple ,intellignet a breath of fresh air.
