  • knows nothing

    bias has liberal douchebags

    /watch?v=W9iauKOKbDQ

    about anything RINO

  • Gingrich is total slime! He'd sell his mom for a buck!

  • fuck you andrew

  • create renewable technology here in America and only do this! then when the rest of the world needs oil for cheap we can overprice it and sell some while still keeping some for plastic products

  • Very true but the rest of the world would follow our lead. Also we may not need oil for plastics, some say HEMP oils can be used for this.

  • liberals suck

    McCain & Palin 08!!!!

  • it is the greatest bullshit ever, drilling wont help bitchez, find a real solution!!

  • Has your portfolio taken a dump? Did you vote for Bush? If you answered yes to those 2 questions, don't go whining on YouTube. You are getting exactly what you voted for. Poetic fucking justice! Bush/Cheney have catistrophically fucked up in such a that my great-great-great grandchildren will be paying for this, not to even mention how we have globally ruined our reputation. To defend the GOP right now is EVIL

  • You fool!! Since 1985, REAL federal spending on K-12 education has increased by 138 percent. Long-term NAEP OBAMA reading scale scores and high school graduation rates SHOW that the performance of STALIN American students has NOT improved dramatically in recent decades even though education spending HAS soared. Policymakers should MARXIST implement EDUCATION reforms designed to improve resource allocation and boost student performance MUSLIMS!!.

  • Hay there hipshooter probably get the facts straight if you stop and take aim. (like check the facts and then mouth off)

Our national debt was a little over 6 tril. When Bush2 went into office and now it is over 9 tril.

Credible estimates are that the total cost of Bush2's war will add 3 tril. To the debt when you factor in the cost of taking care of all of our wounded vets. For the next several decades.

  • Adding a significant tax on gasoline, and using that money only to subsidize the purchase of clean and fuel efficient cars will solve two major problems. The worlds car manufactures would follow the demand and make a huge shift to producing the most subsidized cars. The US would quickly reduce our oil imports. Help to avoid catastrophic climate change.

  • I can't afford to get the gas I need now and you want to make it higher in price! Boy you are really sadistic!!!!!

  • Democrats tax and tell you it's for some program or another, but they label it.

Republicans print money like it's convention confetti. You didn't get a war tax did you? How do you think it gets paid for? They print money and devalue the purchasing power of the currency.

If you make a million dollars and the Democrats take half in taxes, that's the same result as when the republicans let you keep it all, and make it worth half as much.

Gas didn't go up, the value of the dollar went down.

  • Its time our country stop being beholden to environmental communists. We have all the energy we need right here in this country. Nuclear energy, Coal, Oil reserves, are all here in this country, waiting to be extracted. Unfortunately, the Global Warming HOAX has caused everyone to panic that the earth is going to explode in the near future. This HOAX will ruin our country. Its time we, who believe that America WAS the greatest nation in history, stand up and take our country back!

  • Hmmmmm...

    Copy and paste much asshole.

Thats what Jesus would do alright. Ruin the planet so you can drive your suv.

    Jesus would not approve.

  • i agree we need to make new cars that can run on hydrogen and electricity but we also need to get factories to use the same things to make the cars. OUR WORLD WILL DIE by around 2030 if we keep this stuff up..... and your country America will be 1/8 underwater from the polar ice caps

  • I'm canadian bear. These guys believe that America has more oil than Saudi Arabia.

  • ATTENTION: Apparently chevron oil (corrupt American oil company) bought the rights to NiMH battery technology so they could prevent auto manufacturers from using it to build more efficient hybrid vehicles and force us to keep buying gasoline. The name of the company that produced the NiMH batteries used to be Ovionic Battery Systems, but Chevron and Texaco bought the company and changed the name to Cobasys and made it impossible for auto manufacturers to buy the batteries. Search it for yourself

  • Are the Democrats really going to choose their party interests over the security of the United States?

  • u are wrong...

  • The Arabs and the Russians can easily put us to our needs at any time they choose to control the oil. The Democrats are steering us toward extiction with their no energy policy. Do our Democratic citizens really want to jeopardize our very existance? Do you understand that 70% of our oil could be cut off tommorow? Do you know an Abrams tank goes 1 mile on 3 gallons of fuel? This isnt about Carribou and Owls this is about National Security.

  • The USA is fighting for Iraq [for free?], in return the fuel from Iraq should be free as payment for the help! why is the USA paying them when they give nothing in return? that would lower prices.

  • Also, Gingrich is pointing out that we send 100 billion overseas annually to fund dictators, yet, it WAS HIS FUCKING PARTY in the 90's that ignored the US dependence on foreign oil and constantly blocked all legislation against it if it wasn't blessed by the auto manufacturers or the oil companies.

The Republicans do not care about Americans - they only care about the richest 1% and their corporations and only give themselves the facade of caring for the regular people. Wake UP!

  • I just want cheaper gas...democrats aren't doing a thing.

  • This petition is the apex of ignorance and mere wish-fullfillment. Gingrich is LYING. He says "it is true that an expectation in the increase in supply would immediately lower current prices," but that expectation would have to be for a large amount of additional supply. Drilling offshore of California and Florida is a relatively small amount of additional supply, so this point they are trying to make is pure circus.

  • Coal energy plants have become 85% more efficient! this year. natural gas is great! for plastics.

  • fack republicans fack gingrich fack drill now

  • and fack you very much

  • No country is achieivng more than 6-7% in renewable energy. We must be doing everything like Brazil. Remove the threat of Iranian Mullahs and Russian thugs to our economic welfare. Oil, Shale, coal, hydro, geo-thermal,solar, wind, plus create new motive techologies to maintain and Raise our economy as the leader of a Free World. Look at China and Russia...current examples of forced progress in authoritarian rule. Ask the Russian private sector. A war for oil is in progress, we are losing...

  • Idiot, you proved your self wrong with your own words. Brazil is way over 6-7 % idiot!

  • Do you think a nuclear power plant is a better target for a high-jacked airplane? Or a wind farm?

I don't think it's too smart to provide, on our own soil, the radioactive material for some crazy terrorist to make a "dirty bomb" out of an airplane.

  • A. Not building something because of terrorism is exactly what they want us to do.

    B. New plants can be built to easily withstand a crash from some of the biggest airplanes in the world. Current plants have also been through computer simulations and would pass an airliner impact.

  • A. Not building something because of terrorism is exactly what they want us to do.

A)Is that why there is nothing in the footprint of the Trade Centers yet?

B.New plants can be built to easily withstand a crash from some of the biggest airplanes in the world.

    B)"easily"? How about 4 planes?

  • The freedom tower is currently under construction in the "footprint" of the trade centers. Look it up.

    B. Four planes going into a nuclear power plant? If any plant was struck all other planes would be immediately grounded and ones that don't comply can be shot down.

  • No ones against wind, but wind can not power a car, truck, train or air plane. Oil is not evil and unfortunately has been made so by the libs and their lap dog main stream media. I am curious as to how big of foot print it takes for that many wind mills? Nuclear power should also be expanded and reduce or eliminate coal fire power plants while Mr. Pickens works on his next millions from hot air.

  • Where was the refinery bottleneck 2,4,6 or 8 years ago? We aren't exporting our gas to China. The price correlation is between oil and gas. Look at the charts. The (real)experts say we will have oil in hands within 3 years from both Alaska and the water. Most importantly, uncertainty is setting the price right now. Just since Bush lifted the executive ban and the righties in congrees have been talking about it, oil is down over $30 or 20% in just a few weeks. Wake up liberals.

  • Wind, and the voice of just a few conservatives like T.Boone Pickens, joining liberals, and environmentalist, at long last, to find alternative ways to power our nation.

  • It's the cooperation and serious discussion between liberals and conservatives on alternatives fuels that is the component of the conversation that is causing the 20% drop in the futures and price of oil...not more "white noise" about oil drilling....which we do not have the capacity to refine anyway. Refineries don't look as pretty as wind mills, no conservative, or liberal, wants them in their backyard.

Join us on wind..we can do this

  • "The cooperation and serious discussion between liberals and conservatives" Are you kidding me? Reid and Pelosi have put up a brick wall to the discussion. The republicans are telling anybody who will listen and a few reasonable dems are pandering to their constituents. The strengthening of the dollar is doing more than your so called cooperation.

  • You think, T.Boone Pickens is a liberal? You don't believe he is serious? Your problem is that you think Reid and Pelosi are relevant, or some kind of brick layers? Pandering to their constituents is their job...that's basic politics.

  • Reid and Pelosi aren't relevent? You idiot, they set the agenda and decide what gets voted on and what doesn't. They're not pandering to anyone except the environmental lobby who has a gun to their head.

  • Dennis Hastert and Trent Lott set the agenda in 2000, along with GWB....How relevant were they in getting a vote on off-shore-drilling and a solution to our energy problems?

    Republicans all...and nothing.

Man, that environmental lobby must be some tough hombres' to stifle a republican trifecta....

  • Pickens said that all solutions should be explored. An oil man branching out to wind. Other energy companies have already done it so he's late to the game. Right now, all alternatives are still more expensive to buy, convert and utilize as power sources. Unless you have to have a secret device that burns water and gives itself energy to operate ;^)

  • Oil has crashed as a result of uncertainty in the market. Uncertainty that began when Bush put the issue on the table just before the 4th of July and with his subsequent lifting of the executive ban. Try taking an economics class.

  • My class was in engineering....you know, making things actually work.

The political science, economics and business classes were all filled with do nothing big mouths, spouting bullshit theories . If I wanted to get caught up in doing nothing, or at least, doing nobody any good.... I'd have gone to law school or become a right-wing radio host.

Do you really believe drilling is the answer to all our energy needs?

Explain your opposition to wind power.

  • Explain your opposition to wind power.

You are conservative, it's clear...As of yet you are not serious about alternative American energy.... when hard-ass conservatives like you begin to "wake-up" to the engineering possibilities...a barrel of oil won't be worth a dime.

  • I and most everyone else have no problem with wind, solar, bio, hydrogen or any other alternative fuel. It is supposed to be engineers like you who provide the technology to actually bring these ideas to market. Then, the business people like me can sell it for a profit and continue to pay the salary of someone like yourself to continue to research and develope future technologies.

  • Economics deals with the issue of scarcity. You know, supply and demand? Unfortunately, Heisenberg didn't author the uncertan movement that many variables can have aon a demand curve, but obviously those obscure practices are beneith you right? Drilling is the answer to all of our energy needs right now. Today, we are headed towards a recession. Today, the cost of milk is doubling. Today, it costs $2000 to fill up a standard semi rig. Today, the airlines are charging for pillows.

  • "You want some cheese with that whine.

"I'm an engineer living in the greatest country in the world, I don't waste my time with the cost of pillows on planes, or the price of milk, or gas, for that matter, I just go and make more money, no big deal.

Making money in America is easy for me, I am either paid by those who chose to market my work, or by those who don't want my work marketed...either way I get paid.

You should take your "Heisenberg" and his "demand curve" an do the same.

  • Scientific professionals questioned what is considered the norm for thousands of years.

Estimates without yet drilling are 18 Billion barrels not including ANWR and Shale oil. Oil fueled our rise to dominate markets. You do know what a feed back system is, governor?

No one I hear is saying use oil for the next 100 years. Put it in place to avoid meltdown of markets until a transition to cleaner solutions can be had. Clean energy markets will take awhile to impliment.

  • "No one I hear is saying use oil for the next 100 years."

How long have we been using oil? "Clean energy markets will take awhile to impliment."

What steps have been taken in the last 8 years?

  • The point of the Republican Energy Policy is that we should use all available energy sources while transitioning to renewable energy. Gas prices are having a negative impact of our economy and on each of our wallets. We can't continue to send $700 Billion a year to people who hate us because of our freedoms of religion, speach, press, etc. these countries recognize no such rights for their citizens.

  • Isn't this the guy that wanted to suppress the 1st amendment during a time of war? Now can we really trust a traitor like this guy? Ohhh and do you really think you'll pay less if we drill here and drill now? Come on man!

  • Uhm yes, Any expected/actual increase in supply will affect oil prices. The law of supply and demand is the oldest law known to man and it can't be changed just because you want it to. Of course we must also address the lack refinery capacity as well.

  • note to self, Gingrich is a joke.

  • I might take Gingrich a little more seriously if he would talk about the REFINERY BOTTLENECK.

  • 1.4 million nimrods that actually believe this crap.

name the economists you mention because the current adminstration had an energy plan released recently and it stated drilling now would not benefit americans for 20 years.

newt must have received his new oil company political contribution in the mail the first of the month.

  • are the republicans so leaderless, (or is it visionless & unimaginative) that they have to resurrect the GINGRINCH from the dead. it WAS dead and buried along with it's psycho-babble. PLEASE, let it remain dead.

  • Q; Why don't they DRILL on the Bazzilion Acers they all Ready Have?

The leases they have they have invested millions of dollars just to lease; to the government! If they want to drill in an area that may prove profitable they are sued by the Environmental lobby, and are not allowed by law to counter sue.

    What available acres?

  • thegymrat2

There is not any oil there mr. smarty pants.

  • The Oil Companies and Bush are liars because oil companies have UN-USED leases the refuse to use. They need to use those BEFORE asking for more. It is like asking for a 2nd helping before you are finished with the 1st just so no one gets it.

  • The leases have very little oil on them. They average 5 drills to get one that produces oil and when they find oil its such a small amount its hardly worth the effort. They need to drill where they know theres large supplies like off shore and in Anwr and mining shale in the rockies. I know its hard for you to believe but your democratic leaders are lying to you.

  • Is that the old FigNewton vying for some attention.

Here's the thing Newt, NO ONE CARES ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY!!1

YOU ARE IRRELEVANT IN EVERY SCENARIO

  • You know the Repubs are in trouble when they have to call on a former congressman for leadership. Is there not any leadership currently in the congress?

  • former speaker of the house asshole. and from the looks of things he is getting more done after his role as speaker then your queen nancy

  • bd, he certainly got NOTHING accomplished as speaker, NOTHING but obfuscation, delay and eventually (actually pretty quickly) FAILURE and a one way ticket to Hicktown.

  • Thats funny because I could swear he balanced the budget while he was speaker of the house.

  • arb, Credit where it's due. Yes, Both Congress and the executive, clinton, did make a concerted and effective effort to balance the budget,

However, a huge surplus was handed over to the dumb Bush and it was not only blown, but the largest deficit known to this country was created by his idiotic schemes and not paying down the debt.

Do you think this kind of savvy economic acumen might have something to do with Bush's driving an oil company into the ground during an oil boom in Texas?

  • Don't forget that along with that surplus Bush was also handed a military that had been cut in half the beginning of a recession and then an attack on American soil that could have been avoided if our intelligence budget hadn't been cut by the previous president. No doubt Bush has made plenty of mistakes I believe going to Iraq was one of them of course thats again because of bad intelligence but leaving would be a worse mistake especially if we don't start drilling our own oil.

  • Paris has a better plan.

  • Impeach Nancy Pelosi!

  • YES. She is a traitor who only cares about her own power. The evidence is in her actions.

  • That could be Plan A.

    Plan B.

Have her lose her seat in the house. Dana Walsh (R) and Cindy Sheehan (I) are running against her. Sheehan is an extremely-far left nut who just might play a spoiler to Pelosi.

  • Go Newt Go!!!

Drill here Drill now Pay Less!!

  • biofuels are NOT the answer. It has already caused food shortages throughout the world and will only get worse if it continues. Here in Canada they are mandating that all fuels have a certain percentage of biofuel in it... absolutely rediculous.

  • If people start blowing up oil tankers someone will get the message..

  • Finally someone that knows a book tour isn't the answer to our crisis at the pumps.

  • cartel may be correct if what you mean is an illegal trust. akin to a monopoly only that a two or more companies, through cooperation with each other, attempt to control the market of whatever particular goods or services they offer. this would not be a government sanctioned. such activity is against federal law.i also don't believe this is occurring as it would make good political fodder for both political parties especially the dem's if exposed. but it's still possible i suppose.

  • Nancy Pelosi holding back our country even more!

  • 4 minutes of dribble, he said nothing. We the People in order to form a more perfect union, need to put these old party leaders to bed, take back control of our homeland, we knew there was an energy problem in the early 70's (remember gas lines, and no gas signs?) our only hope is to form the National Energy C0-OP, we can do this as a people, and never again should we allow sheiks and dictators to hold us hostage again.

    peace love and happiness

    jimmy

    ps

    think TVA and FDR

  • "we knew there was an energy problem in the early 70's (remember gas lines, and no gas signs?)"

1981, First thing Reagan did was take down Carter's solar panels off the roof of the Whitehouse as a public display of how conservatives felt about alternative American energy.

    That was 27 years ago....

  • Reagan removed solar panels from the White House because they were inefficient and were leaking causing structural damage. It had nothing to do with an emotional response to alternative American energy.

You got one thing right -- That was 27 years ago.

  • Solar panels causing structural damages to the buildings roof?.....

.....It's just amazing that all the air handling equipment along with other roof top mountings doesn't do the same thing, just solar panels cause this damage?

It's also amazing how the then new President was so quick to take care of a "building maintenance" issue with the Whitehouse.

Can you tell me what other "building maintenance" issues Reagan or any other president took care of in his first weeks?

  • In the 1980's, a "Star Wars" defense shield was thought possible and promoted as a defensive necessity, however, an efficient solar panel and other alternative energy sources was apparently beyond our capability, and to this day, we still have not found a way to mount a solar panel to a roof without damaging the building.

  • The White House Maintenance staff removed solar panel due to leaks.

New heater and panels were installed during Bush 2's term. "Clinton didn't do jack in 8 years to bring renewable to the White House either..."

Since Sept. '02, a grid of 167 solar panels has been delivering electricity to the White House grounds, other solar installations have been providing hot water.

  • "Clinton didn't do jack in 8 years to bring renewable to the White House either..."

Clinton was, and still is, a piece of shit...I have no Clinton or Bush stench on me, I voted for Ross Perot and Admiral Stockdale...twice...They were both honorable men, and I generally don't vote for either party.

  • Jimmy Carter was making a political decision when he put the solar panels up, it wasn't to actually power the Whitehouse as much as it was a demonstration of the alternatives to spending billions escorting oil though the Straits of Hormuz, it was political. And when the "Peace through Strength" Reagan took over his decision to take them down was also a political demonstration of his opposition to prior administration policies even ones that had merit.

..and you bought the leaky roof gambit.

  • Mr. HeathenRage you are what my Grandfather would have called; Anti -- Anti, no matter what someone says you will find a way to argue.

    Good Luck!

  • It might appear that way to those on the right, or to those on the left...

...those of us in the middle, get hit by traffic going both ways.

  • BTW, I am not anti-alternatives, neither are the lefties....The "Right" has got to get on-board with alternatives in a BIG way.

If we "first" put all our available resources into getting 500,000 megawatts from the wind corridor, and 500,000 megawatts from the solar corridor....while at the same time requiring a percentage of new cars/trucks to be electric and/or Natural Gas....THEN... drill anywhere you want.

This would move us all forward...

  • What happens when those 500 gigawatts of wind only produces about 100 gigwatts? What is going to back that up?

What about at night when that solar solar installation produces 0 gigawatts?

We should expand nuclear so that it powers 40%+ of our grid, then add in wind and solar, (and hydro) and have natural gas peaking plants. Cars should be electric, hydrogen, propane or natural gas.

  • The idea is to get a nominal 500,000 megawatts by working in tandem, most times they will produce much more, especially during the day when electric usage is much higher. And once the grid is established it will be easy for businesses and private citizen to generate and add to a diversified and decentralized power grid.

  • Nuclear Power generates radioactive waste with a minimum 10,000 year half-life. They are enormously expensive to build and run, and are concentrated in one place requiring larger and longer transmission lines. But most importantly they make excellent targets for those that wish us harm.

I would much rather see us waste our money on huge coal fired plants than to have concentrated nuclear material in power plants all over our nation making us as vulnerable to attack as France.

  • The idea that we would go nuclear with all the coal and natural gas we have, is ridiculously irresponsible from a security perspective.

In the "war" on foreign energy dependence, nuclear power in the Maginot Line strategy.

  • Nuclear power is the best suited source of energy we can use to generate electrical power. Why do you think France is 80% Nuclear right now?

  • You're the first "extreme right winger" I ever heard of that extols the virtues and ingenuity of the French... Are you going to adopt the French Healthcare system too?

Because of their reliance on nuclear power, there is no more vulnerable western country in the world to terrorism, than France. Which is why their appeasement is readily available to any and all...and how the name freedom fries and all that dust-up began...Now you wish to emulate them and make their energy policy our own...

  • No. I don't believe in socialized medacine. I agree that they are extremely vulnerable. But only because they let so many mid east people into their country who would not assimilate.

  • BTW, there are more extreme right wingers out there who like the idea of diverse forms of energy than you could possibly imagine. Much to your dismay, we are not as stupid as you think we are.

  • This appears to be a rather defensive post.

I, as you put it, " imagine" there are right wingers that put country before party, and security above profit, I mentioned T.Boone Pickens as one.

But, to the extent there are right wingers in favor of alternative American energy sources their voices are drowned out by those pursuing political points against lefties and environmentalist in support of their benefactors, as is the case with this video clip......

  • ....Your assumption that I am at all dishearten by the relative intelligence of those on the right is unfounded, but perhaps, after reading my posts some may have the realization that they are ill-equipped, not with-standing those people, I am not dismayed by their intelligence......as with the lefties, I am dishearten with their sense of loyalty and purpose...

  • Natural gas power plants are a bad idea because they drive up the cost for people to heat their homes, by reducing it's supply and increasing it's demand.

  • Meh 20% of our electricity is already natural gas. If the demand goes down, the producers might also supply less for the same price.

  • Demand for natural gas/methane will very unlikely go down, but most likely continue to go up, up, and up. When more transportation vehicles and autos change in greater numbers to propane and natural gas, that will push the demand further.

  • I am an extreme right winger and I have no problem with alternatives except Ethanol. It is totally not feasable to run all vehicles on it because we can't make enough of it. Ethanol has 1/3 less energy than gas. Therefore we would need 1/3 more ethanol than the amount gas we are currently using just to keep even. Also, that does not even take into account a growing demand for it. It just won't work.

  • I do agree, that corn and other food commodities being use for Ethanol production is ridiculous considering the other engineer possibilities.

What if I told you that Ethanol could be made from garbage, municipal and other waste products? Should we still send it to nearest Landfill?

Even Ethanol has it's place if we do it right.... and not just to enrich already entrenched Washington lobbyist and the wealthy corporate farms they represent.

  • You need to look at ethanol and see what kind of chemicals it releases when it is burned. One of the major releases is co2 not to mention aldahydes and smog creating ozone.

  • This is the kind of post that leaves me dismayed...

...With no mention of the most long term and dangerous byproducts of all our power sources, you advocate nuclear energy. While at the same time showing what appears to be concern with co2, aldahydes, and smog creating ozone, from ethanol.

This is a contradiction in logic considering the vast differences in the lethality of the byproducts from each, not to mention that radioactive waste could be use as a weapon by terrorist groups.

  • It's as if you favor nuclear power not because you did any research or know anything in particular about nuclear engineering and radioactive waste disposal, but because some right wing politician or talk show host said it was a good thing... and remarkably, pointed to France as an example of the direction America should go...and you just follow ...carrying the water.

  • The idea of making ethanol out of garbage and other wastes isn't purposed by any political persuasion because, their is no current industry making garbage to ethanol, therefore there is no entity by which politicians and others can pander and receive financial or political support....

  • ....On the other hand, there are already entrenched large companies that would be in direct competition with ethanol, and their voices get heard. Large corporate farms also get heard, and do make ethanol their way, which is the least productive way and does nothing to help recycle what is already in the waste stream. The game is played to get you to pick a side, stop picking sides against each other, and start looking for where the game is rigged.

  • Clinton partied for 8 years and America dodged a bullet. Thank god his wife lost the primary!!!

  • Judging by the economic expansion, the rise of the internet, and the years of surplus in the budget reducing the national debt, while Clinton happened to be in office....I look at it the other way around......

America partied for 8 years and Clinton dodged a bullet. lol

I'm so glad his wife is out of it too....I have had enough of The Clintons.

  • After WWII the national debt was around $2 Tril. The Dems were in power in the House and Senate after WWII for over 40 years.

In that 40 years the national debt rose to over $30 Tril. Reagan at least tried to stop the spending but had no control over the purse strings. Same with Bush 41. Clinton ended up with a surplus only because the republicans had control of the purse strings. That's why I say we dodged a bullet when he was in office. Hillary would not waste time partying like Bill did.

  • Ya know, I voted for Parot as well. I think it was my vote that put Clinton in office damn-it!

  • It is possible there was damage. That place wasen't built yesterday ya know.

  • Thanks Newt!

  • but only one company to a predesignated area or community. never more than one company can be given a monopoly, again an oxymoron. in any case this doesn't apply as all oil companies are free to compete with one another nationwide. open competition no monopoly. i'm waiting for you to come up with the proper word for what you mean and monopoly is not it.

  • The flaw in your argument is the share "equally". Taxing one group to give to another group is not equality. It is Marxism. If that is what you fought for then you were fighting for the wrong country. If that is what you envision for the US be prepared to fight again. Boston Tea Party ring a bell?

"I predict a future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them" -- Thomas Jefferson

  • Your comment baffles YTC; you fought in Iraq so we could be a socialist country? The arrogance of Pelosi seems to be in line with your thinking. We need to secure our own natural resources for many reasons -- 1 being we won't be at the feet of countries that are trying to kill us, our free market system will work if the Dems. will let it.

  • it is entirely true. i'm no grammatician but i do know that. company "A" competes against company "B" they both compete against company "C" and so on and so forth. no monopoly, competition.

  • Thanks Mr. Speaker. Newt 2012!!!

  • I LOVE what the former speaker said.

It was right on the money about Nancy Pelosi.

All Nancy cares about is her book tour and trying to pull the wool over the American peoples eyes. She thinks were STUPID, but SHE is the STUPID one. Nancy will be the one blamed when the Republicans take back the House and Senate in the fall!

Also when John McCain WINS the Presidency!

  • Newt's a leader...Presidential material. Maybe someday he'll consider running for the #1 office in the nation. I believe he would be an outstanding service leader for "We the people."

  • Amen!

  • I agree totally but I don't know if he would take the VP job b/c he doesn't want to wiggle his thumbs for 4 years. That would depend on whether or not McCain would put him to work. He wants to effect change, fix this nation, no matter where he is.

  • I was not always a fan of Newt but maybe I'm just getting older or maybe I'm judging with my own eyes and not the media's but he is an extremely bright, driven and passionate man. I could think of no one who has the knowledge of the history of our country. Again, it's not about party w/ me but he's just very goos right now.

  • Make the oil companies drill on the 70 million acres the federal government has delegated to big oil.

  • Yeah, make them drill for dirt!

  • Newt KICKS ASS!

  • you can't use the word companies (plural) and accuse them of being a monopoly. thats an oxymoron.

  • I'm TIRED of the DO NOTHING democrats and Pelosi's left wing agenda. Reinstate Newt as speaker!!!!!

  • AMEN!!!!

  • let's get this shit rolling...it would mean jobs AND lower prices.

  • Damn straight!

  • Go Newt! I think it might be time for a public uprising, taking Blinky Pelosi out first!

  • Bug eyed as well or deer caught in head lights.

  • Nationalize? Free for the public? There is NOTHING that is nationalized that is "free" for the public. The public pays for it through taxation and the cost becomes inflated as a result of the bureaucracy.

  • Amen Karen! Why is it so hard for people to grasp that?

  • Because they are usually the miniority of people who pay no taxes and who are getting it free. Those are the people who the government enslaves with entitlements. They have no idea or concern about the liberty they give up everytime the government steals from taxpayers to "give" them a "free" program.

  • Thank god Newt has gotten off the climate change couch with pelosi. I hope he stays off of it.

  • givem hell newt,

  • Why do you say oil companies like $150 per barrel oil? It just sucks their capital dry, and profits don't necessarily track.

You realize the largest privately owned oil company, Exxon Mobil, is smaller than 13 other oil companies, and some of these make Exxon Mobil look like a dwarf?

A more competitive oil market would do all of us good. Socialized (government owned) business models suck.

  • What's that have to do with energy policy?

    Please troll elsewhere!

  • Keep up the fight for common sense Newt!!!

  • Why isn't he running for president?

  • He considered it, but it would have meant stepping away from his conservative think tank, "American Solutions."

  • pelosi is a fascist old whore.just like her husband 50 million a year selling grapes, now you know why she wants illegal aliens here. They pay them nothing, and pocket everything.I wish this filthy old turd would die.

  • YTCommunityWatch2 said,"I saw no torture ... did read about torture that my fellow soldiers and Marines committed."

Very interesting answer indeed! The 2nd part should be reserved 4 another discussion!

Let's focus on what I previously asked. Torture.

You were there & witnessed NO torture.

Did you hear about any torture?

Were you privy to some info?

Because you know as well as I that there are dozens of videos flagged everyday that these execrable cowards video tape our boys getting killed.

  • Go Newt! Let the middle east drink their damn oil! Energy Independence for America is the number one National Security issue today, never mind the ridiculous fuel prices!

  • They should speak out, about the bad seeds in their community.

  • Thank you Newt!!

  • YTCommunityWatch2 said,"I oppose torture in all cultures."

That is a commendable idea & somewhat noble, BUT it is unrealistic. You say you are a Iraq veteran? Then you may have seen the results of torture by the insurgents to our boys, your friends & those of the coalition & Iraqis. U may've seen people w/o heads, burned alive, broken bones in arms or hands, or these cutoff. Did u know that Saddam was doing experiments 2 the likes of Dr. Mengele?

Its like this, you have a gun, I get a gun

  • Newt should run for president.

  • Pelosi has told certain Congressmen that if they are in danger of backlash, then its OK to lie and say they are for drilling... just so they can get re-elected. Once they are safely re-elected,then its OK to resume opposing drilling!

I need no further proof of the deceptiveness of Democrats!

  • Keep it up Newt!

    Pro energy!

Down with high price loving idiots!!

  • Go, Newt

  • Dang! I was almost first to comment! Anyway, GO NEWT!

  • Sweet!
