  • i dont know why people say they dont like this movie i think it was very good with a great plot

  • @RAWRitsoybean

That's such an American thing to say.

  • @mussman717word Snobbish much? Lots of women liked it and it had nothing to do with film quality. Lots of Americans like high quality movies, but don't kid yourself that overseas audiences do not watch the American movies you put down. Not every movie needs to be extraordinary quality, merely entertaining.

I suspect you are very young; sounds like it.

  • @bonnieallmine

See, that's the difference between you and me. You're fine with mediocrity, as most Americans are. If I were making a film, knowing that people would have to pay to see it, I would aim for excellence. You, on the other hand, would probably just be in it for the money. Congratulations. If everyone thought like you, there would be no Orson Welles, no Quentin Tarantino, no Martin Scorsese, every film would be completely worthless, like watching the Kardashians.

  • @mussman717word Actually, the difference between us is 50 years...LOL. I could tell by the all knowing style of your writing that you are in the stage of youthful exuberance that sees only one trajectory of knowledge. I have two Masters degrees, a Doctorate, and I do presentations in Archaeology. I have seen many great films and actors. I love good films, and good writing but I have room for silliness as well, and for the merely entertaining...

  • @bonnieallmine

Lol, I have room for silliness, too, but a film like this simply doesn't entertain, as opposed to classics like Airplane, The Jerk, Superbad, for instance. This movie is just simply shite, you've got to admit that.

  • @mussman717word So much of what one enjoys is completely subjective! I do not find Airplane, The Jerk, Superbad entertaining or amusing, even. and Get him to the Greek was simply appalling. Most appeal more to male humor, and unfortunately, it is mostly male who do movie reviews.

Sometimes, it is simply the difference between men and women (and gendre wiring is actually different, not just relaled to culture or nurture related) as to what is amusing.

Japanese are now saying a meltdwn?

  • @bonnieallmine

What are your favorite comedy films? I understand there's a certain amount of subjectivity to film, especially when it comes to comedy. The difference is that in those movies (whether you dig them or not) is that several jokes occur every minute, it's constant entertainment for those who appreciate that type of humour. Other comedies that are more about situation/plot can be just as good when it goes right, but this movie is rehash central. P.S. I didn't mention GHTTGreek.

  • @mussman717word I understand you did not mention GHTTG; male reviewers loved it. Most popular comedies are filled with male humor. I enjoyed The Wedding Crashers, mostly. I hated Tropic Thunder, No Will Ferrell movies ever. Hmm...since most comedies are by males and full of male humor maybe none! Most be one or two out there. Hated Borat. When one researches top 30 comedies, every list is made by males...LOL. All have a few moments of humor, but male and female humor is often unlike.

  • @mussman717word Another GB film: The Ugly Truth, (R), a rom-com. One young man said he liked it as it has moments of passion for women, & crass humor for males (GB is famous for his own crass humor; the only man who can use the f word and make me laugh, Its the Scottish accent; Scots can get away with it). an early indie film of his is Dear Frankie, about a deaf boy who needs a temporary father; you might like it. GB's 1st American film: Dracula 2000. His Beowulf & Grendel perhaps?

  • @mussman717word Have you ever seen any old comedies? Arsenic and Old Lace is amusing, from I think the 30s or early 40s.

  • @bonnieallmine

No, unfortunately, I haven't seen any old comedies, but that's only because the town I live in has only one video store, Blockbuster -- and they don't even have Serpico, Mean Streets, Lost in Translation, let alone many old-time flicks. It's unfortunate, because I really love the old film era.

  • @mussman717word and no Netflix? Too bad. Netfix is great. Arsenic and Old lace is an old Cary Grant comedy about his gentle aunts who have a peculiar hobby. I hope you like dark humor, because then you would like Dr. Strangelove if you have not seen it. The first Pink Panther was pretty good too.

Netflix is actually cheaper over all than Blockbuster. I pay $10 a month, and can watch all kinds of movies, even older ones. Best of luck to you!

  • @bonnieallmine

No, I've been thinking about getting Netflix or something. You may well have just convinced me to do so. And, quite a few of my friends have practically begged me to see Dr. Strangelove, because I am into dark humour. I just haven't got around to it yet. Actually, I don't watch a lot of movies, I just know what I like to see, and I've studied the structure, i.e. the 3-Act format, and movies that gracefully deconstruct it. I'm currently trying to be a screenwriter, lol.

  • @mussman717word Netflix also quite a large selection of movies that can be downloaded to your computer. I think they have a discount right now for first time joiners. Strangelove is very interesting from more than one point of view. 1st:Peter Sellers plays 3 different roles; then the extreme paranoia of the 1950s,as the Soviet Union and the US were in an arms race and threatening each other (and the planet) with mass destruction, one wrong move by one nutty person could have ended us all.

  • lol i lovedd that movie!! :D <3

  • Very funny!

  • OMG!!! Thanks for uploading it!!!!!!LOVED IT!!!
