But like a tank. Strong and reliable, I'd love either a 740,760,940,960,850 and not forgetting the 900 series. all them were true Volvo's. there not made like they used to! :(
Of course(: It just recently acquired its long awaited twin turbos. x)) Went from 214hp to 615hp. 140 was reached with the stock hp, but now its so surpassed. ((: Very much fun to drive.
@zacksalt4 i love how much i get ripped on by people for driving a volvo, get their crappy north american cars would never stand a chance against the 960 i drive.
@MonsterNRGEE Meee too. haha. At my school there are only 2 Volvo's in the parking lot of 1k +. One being mine and the other being a friends s40 Turbo. And we always get crap because we drive Volvo's. If only they knew how strong and reliable the cars are. They would never again make fun of them again (: haha. I have made a few owners of mustangs and camaros respect me just by one race. Woot woot. lol
@zacksalt4 i had fun up against a little pontiac gran prix tonite, the dickhead was tailgating me, transmission was in sport mode, i slowed right down on him, and when he went to pass i floored it. was tailgating him going 120km in an 80, then when he slowed down i bulletted passed him doing like 5500rpm, it was straight up mental
ah, I could wish I was a teen in the 80's, so that I could live through the 2 best decades of cars and music... ahh, why did I come to this world so late!? :P
so this commercial is telling me that i can smash my brand new (at the time) Volvo 960 through a wall without any repercussions right? imma go buy one NOW
@BREN70S No, "Made in China" means that it's built in China. Volvo still has the Swedish factory. The only Volvo that's made in China is the Volvo made FOR China.
@barrskogsv eh, nope, if you buy a Volvo in the US or in Europe, it is most likely made in a chinese factory. And there is nothing bad about that, they do exacly the same as in the swedish
@BrunostNOR Nope. The Chinese factory only produces cars for the Asian market. And maybe for the US. However, the cars sold in Europe are made in Sweden and Belgium. It's more expensive to import them from China than to build them here, because of customs duty. But within the European Union there are nu custom charges at all. That's why every Volvo sold in Europe also are made here. Even Honda has a European factory in GB where they make cars for the European market.
Some of the Volvo 960 were build by a single person (in the Uddevalla factory), but it became a little bit to expensive for this car. Now the cabriolet C70 is constructed in Uddevalla but with assembly lines.
i have a 96 960 and noting horribe just matenence costs alot and DONT BREAK THE GLASS ON THE FOG LIGHTS that was the fastest $130 i have ever spent(on just one), good luck
I bought a corner light lens for 40 bucks and a mass air flow sensor for about $65. Volvos sure costs a lot to maintain but the car itself lasts for a very long time as long as you do care for it.
Those plates are belonging to those exhibition and photo plates mostlt likely and the car in video a "zero-series" prototype the anyway will crush after that advert. owned before a former test car and when you checked up the VIN on that, not a number were normal, engines never meant to mount ever in 760, gearbox code were indicating on something we never got answer on.
and so on... in infinty. '83 body with '86-87 panel and God knows what more.
Yeah Cars in America cant hit dear but Volvos Can hit moose and still drive VOLVO for life and all you mother fuckers who say no CAn suck my fucking dick! Volvo 200 SERIES is the BEST
Eh, I had an '85 240DL and generally loved the car, but I find the 940/960 and 850 to be MUCH nicer cars. Better comfort, luxury, fuel economy, perfomrance, looks, quieter, smoother, and the list goes on. The 240 is a great car, just too noisy and unrefined for todays standards and compared to the other models I mentioned.
No seriously, the 2.9L V6 has a known defect with the cylinder head I think it is? I read a story of someone's engine failing at 50k miles because of the defect. I'm not Volvo bashing. I LOVE Volvos! I owned one a few years ago and am looking to buy an 850 or S70. My point was that it's a known defect and you should do a search online if you don't believe me. That's all.
