  • that shit cray man!! 2GR-FE IS FROM CAMRY OR AVALON.. THAT ENGINE MAKE 0-60 IN 5.9 SECONDS.. THAT'S ON CAMRY, IMAGINE THAT IN MR2...

  • Can u throw this motor in a scion tc?

  • nice work man, I have an mk1 and enjoy every minute of it. I always wanted to steal the 1mzfe from my moms avalon and do a mk1.5 conversion until I saw on the forums where guys were doin it with these engines, looks like you get more bang for your buck in the long run with th 2gr. What do you think about the 1mz vs. the 2gr?

  • @Frankenstein00000 can you do this swap with the s54 Nonturbo transmission??

    or does anyone know??

  • I heard you stopped selling the motor mount and the headers. That's kinda a bummer. I live in Indiana and was planning on doing this V6 swap next year.

  • did you do all the work yourself? i was looking into dropping a 3vz in my 92 na about a year ago but ended up flaking do to not being able to find a competent mechanic who i trusted, how much total would u estimate the cost to drop in a 2gr?

  • @GOTHEAT0 yeah, i did all the work myself and i now sell parts to make the swap much easier. if you go on MR2OC . com and check out the V6 section, i've posted a ton of information and all the pricing stuff there.

  • Best car in the world.

  • Drive by wire or cable?

  • ever consider putting some twin turbos on that v6?

  • How does it make 290 HP at the wheels? The 2GR-FE makes 268 at the flywheel. Even Lotus' engineering for the Evora was only able to bump it up to 276 flywheel. You running nos or something?

  • @Andrejboskov i make some nice headers that seriously boost the horsepower. they should also fit on the evora to give it the same power boost.

  • @Frankenstein00000 Is that thing turbo'd? that looks like high temp/pressure intake plumbing.

  • OMG, that thing is absolutely beautiful! i'm gonna be getting a v6 swap soon in my 91 and just finding out about this motor. Plans are to do a 3v ze, is this about the same cost wise?

  • Does the E153 bolt up directly to the 2gr? I'm interested in this swap but rather putting it in a MR2 Spyder, do you know the difference for the 2gr being put in a spyder?

  • @lajlijthoj it's been done go check out the other threads on the MR2OC forum like i've got links to in the description.

  • @Frankenstein00000

Yeah I've tried but I my access gets denied, I even made a membership lol and was still denied because of certain circumstances? I'm still debating on the 2gr and k20 though, torque vs top end, but k20 has a lot to offer in after market also.

  • The engine bay looks a bit cramped. How easy it is to remove the engine?

  • @spvensko it slides in and out without a problem. it's just the right size to still fit in the engine bay.

  • yo bro nice project do ya have alink cuz i have mr2 and dont know were

to start with the 2gr swap

  • @Hamaddrift i've aded links to the description to the two threads that have the most info about this swap.unfortunately you'll have to register for the forum to be able to see them.

  • yo bro nice project do ya have alink cuz iam having mr2 and dont know were

to start with the 2gr swap

  • so I will be doing this swap later on in the future any suggestions or photo's? how much did it cost you total to get this running? on a scale of 1-10 how hard is it to do this swap?

  • @CltfinestMR2 it's not that hard. especially if you buy the parts i sell to make it easier.

i would suggest going to read the two sticky threads on the 2gr-fe that i posted on mr2oc.com in the V6 section. that will give you lots of info about the swap.

  • what'S the kit you are selling?

  • @mr2v6sc i sell a mount kit that takes care of all the hard part of mounting a 3.5L 2GRFE motor in a 2nd generation MR2. i also sell a set of headers that let this motor truly breathe. with all the MR2s tested so far, the headers bring the power output from the approximate 269bhp that Toyota states to the 330-350bhp range.

The only work left for the installer is the wiring harness and a few coolant pipes.

  • @Frankenstein00000

you mean an engine mount kit?

  • @mr2v6sc it's more than that. it's an engine mount, a modified water outlet and a throttle pedal adapter (to use the drive by wire pedal)

the only thing not covered is the radiator hoses which are pretty easy to do. and the wiring harness which is a bit harder but still not that difficult if you have patience.

  • @Frankenstein00000

are you selling this kit online?

how much for the water outlet, throttle pedal adapter and engine mounts?

also, does the pedal will replace the stock pedal or if it'S an adapter in the engine bay to maintain the stock cruise control?

  • @mr2v6sc i don't have an online store setup yet, but i do ship worldwide. the complete kit is $980 and headers add $600 to that (the headers by themselves are $700). contact me at Marc (at) frankensteinmotorworks . com (replace (at) with )

  • @mr2v6sc

Those headers should fit also fit the Toyota Camry and the Lotus Evora. They do require a custom y-pipe and exhaust when installed in any of the applications.

  • Well done for the transplant!

Wish there was more people willing to ship the 2grfe to the UK, its hard to find. Will the kit be for sale onliine? are you a member of the mr2oc? twobrutal i would like to know more about the build.
