  • People can say what they want about disco, but you had to be a damn good musician to play this music. Just listen to that Bass line!! Off the chain!!

  • @chiliwilly39 I agree! Those people don't have any listening skills and they probably can't dance either!

  • Thanks for posting, but the beginning got cut off.

Anyway, been searching for the long version of this for some time.

  • One of my all time favorite disco tunes! I danced to this a 1000 times, goood times!

  • Pretty sure this was the TV version I used to see in the 70's. Totally blown away by Thelma's dance moves....so much so I tried to mimic them on the floor...didn't quite work out. Think this may be the album version-hot n' cookin'

  • gurl still has it to this day!

  • Yep. Brilliant.

That Tamla bass-riff was very prevalent at that time ~ this trak (& the Originals version), Down to Love Town, Love Hangover etc.

  • THE HORROR WHITE PEOPLE DANCING FLEE FLEEE FOR THE HILLS

  • I saw Thelma perform this during the taping of the Motown 45 TV special back in 2004. I was already getting swept up in the excitement of seeing Smokey Robinson, Lionel Richie, The Funk Brothers and a lot of other legendary Motown groups performing that night but, I especially remember Thelma coming out there and giving another killer rendition of this song. An unexpected but, much appreciated surprise!

  • This one is great but a haunting reminder of the late "70"

  • Thelma is so absolutely sweet and unaffected in this rendition of her disco classic. I keep listening to this. stmichaelj

  • best version, ever

  • Great !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is the Disco song of everytime........wonderful Thelma!!!!!

  • This was, and still is, my all-time favorite "disco" song, and in my opinion, one of the best vocals / recordings from that era. Thanks much.

  • Best Vocals?-I know of 1 other who could compete with THELMA-And she is DONNA SUMMER.... Both is pretty HOT!**Talking SMOOOOKING FIRE** HERE Whoooo!!

  • OLDSCHOOLHHSEX . . . I did write "one of the best vocals" . . . not "the" best vocal . . .

  • I'd pay to see that Bob .. A true classic - thanks.

  • Yes, it is a very good song for dance.

    Thanks, Bob.

  • Thanks Bob. Great "funky" "classic" song :-)

Wonder what a drink called "Mood of the bartender" would be like ? :-)

  • Aaah baby, my heart is full of love and desire for you

Now come on down and do what you gotta do

You started this fire down in my soul

Now can't you see it's burning out of control

Come on (now) satisfy the need in me

Only your good lovin' can set me free.......this song is FIRE baby...still:)

  • Love it!!!

  • Almost two years ago I had an important exam at university and my friends and I were waiting for the results in a cafe, all of us very gloomy.

Then this song suddenly came up and I instantly had a great mood! I didnt even care anymore if I had passed the exam :))) I saw things in perspective again and realized a bad mark or even being thrown out of university wouldnt mean the end of my life... :))

Anyway thats the effect this song has on me! :)

  • 70's Dance classic. Great video. Many thanks for posting this one.

  • What a talent! Great song -and such a tight rhythm section / bass line.
