  • Allogater snapping turtles have thr worlds 2 stroungest bite fors sorry I can't spell but if you know want I'm saying then you know it lol

  • @Supersrtman I have a female alligator snapper she looks like a normal snapper aka common but nay and her neck is long maybe half her body or more and I had a male covered in spikes he was a true look alike monster of what everyone pictures the alligator snapper as his neck was longer then hers

  • @GOONZOOF if your alligator snapper looks like a common snapper, it probably is a common, sorry to tell you....alligator snappers can't even grab your finger on the top of theor shell behind the head....a common will reach back halfway or more

  • its actually a florida snapper and an alligator snapper... common snappers aren't as colorful as florida snapping turtles

  • @cleemeyer1 also alligator snapper have longer necks than common snappers, your alligator snapper is just a year or two younger than the florida snapper

  • @cleemeyer1 you're backwards, common snappers have longer necks...also, they are common snappers, what you're refering to as a "florida snapper" is a common...locale does not make it a different animal

  • @supersrtman if you go on any turtle site or store, they have common snappers for sale and florida snappers for sale because their DIFFERENT.. common snappers are a real dark brown and florida snappers are lighter with better coloration... Alligator snappers cover 3/4 their shell with their neck as common snappers only cover about half of it, we are on the internet you can google it if you think im lying to you.. just because your OLDER common snapper has a longer neck doesnt mean anything

  • @cleemeyer. You're an idiot if you believe that...learn your animals before you try to comment ...they are not different...there is no recognized subspecies for common snappers...again, you are backwards on your theory of their necks....alligator snappers can't even reach the top of their shells...youre probably another misguided person who thinks they have an alligator snapper when you actually just have a common....sad

  • @supersrtman again, as i said if you think i am lying than go online which is what you are on now, and i've had snappers for 20 years now all common snappers and one florida snapper which i ordered because i like the coloration on them... buddy i know more about them then you i can assure you.. do what i said and go to an online store, turtlesource, turtleshack, wherever ( common snapper, and florida snappers will be in there) google it buddy

  • @cleemeyer1 the latin/scientific name for common snappers is Chelydra serpentina that's the latin for all common snapping turtles in north america, there are no variations. like you said yourself buddy, use FACTS, not what an online store says..I guarantee I know more about these animals than you do, and John Richards (if you even know who he is), is a personal friend of mine, so I'm positive my FACTS are correct. if you don't know who he is, you know nothing about snapping turtles

  • alligator snappers have larger heads if you want to use that as a distinction, but their neck are so long they cant retract them into their shell all the way, and name calling doesnt prove anything buddy facts do

  • @cleemeyer1 ok, i saw your videos, you're like 14 yrs old, and you're still wrong....look up the SCIENTIFIC NAMES for common snappers...there are no subspecies...someone is ripping you off just because of a color difference...its like saying a sandfire bearded dragon is a different animal than a regular beards dragon....its just a color difference...means nothing about where its from

  • Actually ur common might start killing them off now there are just like Tht unless they've none each other basicly since hatchlings then ur good

  • Idk who told u alligator ampler don't have a long neck cuz all snappers do maybe urs is a defect or it just hasn't come out yet and u know eventual the territorial side of all ur snappers will kick in say good bye to anything alive in the cage but u got like 1 year tops before Tht good luck

  • @GOONZOOF common snappers have a sognificantly longer neck than alligator snappers...alligator snappers actually have rather short necks

  • @GOONZOOF also, i have been keeping turtles for over 5 years, i have everything under control, no luck needed...thanks

  • I love how ur snappers dnt try and bit u but ur eastern painted turtle does lol I had a painter but he's was dum rest his sole and my snapping turtle is still alive 5 1/2 years so yea I miss little shrek my painted phiona or fiona whtever is my alligator ampler I know I've had her looked at by over 20 marine wild life speicialts 4 or 6 speicyfing in snapping turtles all yups and like 2 or 4 in only alligator snappers and even the liberty science center N.Y. said alligator snapper female

  • I see the alligator is a baby? I have a baby common snapping turtle an one about the same size as yours.. Is it ok to house them together?

  • I have a alligator snapper just like this u guys should check out my vid of him eating!

  • how fast do alligator snappers grow? think about getting one

  • my common snaper is this big.

  • my baby snappers that size started messing with my paiteds i got rid of them to someone else . give it a year everyone wont be so friendly if still together. i had 2 painted 2 snappers all around 3in big

  • I really want a alligator snapper so where did you get it from

  • you shouldn´t have any snapping turtle along with other normal turtles. They will eventually eat them, B E L I E V E M E !

  • This was so helpful! Thank you!

We just found a snapper in the creek today...My son is elated! He's been saying all day it is an alligator snapper...this helped us know for sure (it's a common snapper)

  • Snappers and Alli-Snappers only bite morrons that try to piss them off (too much vid of this kind on youtube...).

  • lol "and that's an aligator" it's been 2 years since you posted this clip.do you have missing body parts becouse of that gater? ^_^

  • @xThExTaZx Nope...that gator was wild caught down here in florida, I let him get some good meals, and then i let him go shortly after the video

  • @supersrtman whered you get the gator snapper?

i have an orange-belly common snapper, that i bought as a hatchling for $10

  • @supersrtman hey, whered you get the gator snapper, i have an orange belly common snapper, that i bought for $10 as a hatchling

  • wow they look so calm compared to mine... cool

  • Alligator snapping turtles are so cute when they're young... then they grow up and can bite off your hand...

  • do ur snapping turtle attack your other turtle.

  • Do the common snappers need a basking light ? Ive heard that the alligator snappers dont even leave the water unless they are females and nesting , but do commons bask or not at all ? thanks

  • How do u sleep with a fucking gator in your room!!!????

  • @e40cally the same way that you sleep without one

  • lol aligator

  • You can also tell by the tongue if it's fat and looks normal it's a common if it's skinny and worm like it's a alligator snapper.

  • @prototypedone not exactly...an alligator snappers tongue is not work like, but it has an appendage on its tongue that simulates a worm, but that's not the tongue itself...

  • it would be easier to tell the differences if they were both babies

  • I hear Saosin in the background

  • @frederickchoe indeed you do...I have good taste in music lol

  • yo where can i get an alligator snapper like urs, i thought u ahd a baby 1 but its a common, plz if u know where i can buy one

  • dude you have a fucking alligator in your room LOL

  • all your animals look healthy and happy

  • deos it bite u

  • is it legal to own a crocodile

  • thats an alligator in the video, not a crocodile, and laws vary from state to state, but in order to own either a crocodile or an alligator, or caiman, etc, you need to have the right permits which 90% of people will not be able to get

  • i have 4 but they got to big so they live in my garden i dont feed them much but theres frogs in the garden so fck it

  • your allowed to own alligator snapping turtles?

also i have red ear sliders how do i tell if they are male or female?

  • here in florida, yes you can own one alligator snapping turtle PER PERSON...and as far as telling the difference between male and females, the males will have much longer nails on their front feet because they flutter the nails very gently in the females eyes when they are trying to mate...thats the easiest way to tell, in my opinion, so obviously your turtles need to be about 3 to 4 inches before you can tell

  • what are the cage requirments for a full grown common snapper?

  • I'd say a full grown common snapper would need ATLEAST 200 gallons, but probably more than that

  • 0:58 lol the gray turtle bites your finger haha

  • yea, thats the painted turtle, he's a trouble starter

  • I like your setup !!! how do you keep it clean ?

  • iv you see my other vid where i explain my tank setup you can see my filter is for like 100-150 gallons of water..its a carbon element filter to help the water stay clear, and i take the turtles out and shake up the rocks about twice a month to get all the junk out from under them
