@nikstiks I am well aware of the fact that he is living, I chose to use this song because he sang it very often on his MDA telethons, which I viewed when he was on them. Yes, he is alive, and I am aware thank you, this is a tribute to an artist still alive... using a song he used to sing to the people with muscular distrophy. They will never walk alone as long as people are still trying to find a cure, he is an advocate for this.

@nikstiks I think the original poster made this as a tribute to Jerry's MDA work, not his life. After 45 years of promoting the MDA.. they tossed him out like a piece of trash. When Jerry started with the telethons, MDA was regarded as the MODEL for all fund raising and the most reputable. Then various people and organizations started using MDA for their own benefit and corrupted the organization. Jerry fought to maintain the integrity, and in return they cast him aside to get more money.

During one of the MDA telelthones, many years ago, Mr. Lewis accepted a check for funds raised by the fire department I work for . He said "I can always count on my firefighters". That was a very proud moment for me, and it still gives me goosebumps. God bless you, Mr. Lewis.

markjroberts43 I totally agree, I'll be in tears for weeks when Jerry passes. He made me laugh as a child when things were really tough. No matter his personal life, or those that degrade him, as far as I am concerned, anyone that makes a child laugh is following Jesus command to let the child come to me! Jerry made a whole lot of children better off by giving his abilities to MDA. Thanks Jerry, I love you :)

Jerry isn't dead. Dean passed away December 25,1995. But Jerry is very much alive. They loved each like they were blood related. They had that once in a lifetime friendship. God Bless both of them.

How many kids sat, and being able to understand fully Lewis and Martins humor, laughed until we cried?! The rest of our lives may have been full of drama and neglect but wile watching Jerry and Dean we had joy and embraced their playful gift of exuberant joy and energetic playfulness. I, in turned, raised my kids on these movies and we laughed deeply together. God Bless & love you precious guys wherever they are.

My husband and myself were in Hollywood around 1960 when our brakes went out and we hit a limo in front and out comes Jerry Lewis. I had a bloody head but all I could say is IT'S JERRY LEWIS. Jerry got quite ill unfortunately. What cused the facial swelling? It almost made me cry after knowing him firstly as such an alive, vibrant, cool and funny guy in movies.

I read his book Jerry and Me; A Love Story. In it, he explains the swelling, bloating, and weight gain from the prescription medicines he had to take. My mom took some of the same meds he did, and the same thing happened to her as well.
