good job jared my buddys and i bought wolf tags for Idaho this year but those earth muffins / elk killers got the wolfs put back on the endangered list ... sounds like you need to get a gun that shoots out to a 1000 yards .. we kill coyotes down here in Utah at 1000 yards so killing wolves would be easy at that far well good luck and if you need help let us know .. we will be up there as soon as they get turned in to a predator like Wyoming is going to do :) :)

Elk hunting is managed, wolf kills aren't .The elk killed by wolves are mainly sport kills .They eat very little of what they kill . They will hamstring a cow , eat its face or pull its unborn calf out while it is alive and leave the mother to die . Do you people know anything about elk ? Or wolves ? Anything at all?

I'm using a featherweight 30-06 now . The elevation involved is the main reason for that . I have bigger long range set ups with glass , but weight is a huge issue . My last trip with the FNAR almost killed me .
