We need to regulate whaling, just like any other form of hunting... but why do we need to outlaw it altogether? It's just dumb. The whales that are extinct now are extinct largely due to whaling in the early 19th century, a long time ago.

Fascinating about the post-war need for whale meat... vs. now. It seems okay to me for people to eat meat. Just as it seems sensible for us to be alert as to how we do it, without destroying the rest of the world (which doesn't, after all, belong just to us).

The thing about pregnant women is not a joke. Whale meat is loaded with toxins (mercury and PCBs) that are dumped into the ocean and are passed up the food chain.

save the wales! they are an amazing animal and should be left at peace. they are not widely consumed so why do they still do it? it is fine when people rely on wales as a primary food source like some icelandic tribes but no way is it ok to do it commertially. there needs to be more videos like this, thanks for putting this on.
