  • @CAJFB Don't count out the Viper, man. The Viper ACR will beat a ZR1 around a track. It doesn't have the acceleration or top speed but it's purpose-built for the track. I gotta say I love both cars though. God bless America!

  • Jeez. It's a 4 lobe twin screw charger. That's why it's quiet. The stangs have 3 lobe twin screw. The roots style means that it has a "root" that comes out of the front of the charger.

And please no one try an correct me by saying the z06 puts down 505hp i already know that but it 505 at the crank about 475 to the wheels.

  • @canah1 I mean hell with how cars are now...you can easily get those #s from a simple plug into the computer chip messing with A:F Ratios as well as other things...go watch Horsepower TV with the 2003+ cobra they modify slightly. Just from messing with the computer chip alone gives you 50+rwhp.

  • please read the comment i posted carefully bro, becuz i knew someone would tell me a z06 is 505. I know that but the z06 is 505 at the crank not to the wheels man, they are ranging from 450-470hp give or take to the wheels, and a zr1 is 638 at the crank not the wheels. edmunds rates the zr1 ar 638 hp hp to the crank and 505 to the wheels, how ever that has recently been changed to 530hp to the wheel.

  • nope incorrect,i have seen someone pull 505hp on the zr1,but i dont know what dyno that was on,but i personally have seen rwhp number tipping 600hp even 611hp,think about if a zo6 puts 505hp crank and 475 rwhp which is approx less than 10% drivetrain loss,how can the same car with a supercharged motor loose 133hp due to drivetrain loss,doesn't make any sense,so i dont know where people are getting these low hp numbers from

  • um the stock ss camaro yes only has around 430hp and can do 0 to 60 in mid 4 secs now hennessey has already made a HPE 550 its the ss camaro but supercharged pushn 590hp and to go beyond that they are makin a HPE 700 which is an ls9 engine supercharged pushn around 700hp. Now if that wasnt enough they are makin a turbocharged ls9 makin 800hp and then the biggest baddest one of them all a twin turbo ls9 makin 1000hp and even the twin turbo 1000hp version doesnt break $120,000

  • yeah but the stock LS9 bottom end is stronger than LS7, the LS9 has forged internals, i believe the LS7 internals are not all forged, so the LS9 could make more power with stock bottom end

  • I may have to give you that but if you replace the internals on the ls7 theoretically the larger displacement will help you out more. hell if we are talking about 1000+ hp who cares about anoter 3gs or so for forged internals right?

  • Actually it's the 7 liter displacement of the LS7 that makes it weak. In order to "fit" that much displacement in an package as small and as light as the LS7, the block has to be made thin and therefore weak. The reason GM chose to make the LS9 a smaller displacement than the LS7 was simply because the LS7 is quite weak.

  • the reason gm chose it is because they need 100% compliance and for a multi billion dollar company even having the possibility of having to worry about it isn't worth it. So, if its do weak tell me why linginfelter Doubled the hp in the zo6 with their twin turbo setup without problems?

  • Since when did they double the power output of the LS7? I've seen them get as high as 800 hp, and I've seen people get above 1,000 hp with the iron LSX block, but not with the stock LS7 block.

  • like I said genius, lingenfelter has a twin turbo zo6 package that puts out 1109 hp. the LSX on the other hand should be able to handle 2000+hp if I am not mistaken from the manufacturers claims. If you don't like it I dont know what to tell you. its fact.

  • Just a correction. The LS1 is in the 97-04 vettes. The LS2 is in the 05-07 Vettes and the LS3 is in the 08+ vettes. The C5 Z06 has the LS6 and the C6 Z06 uses the LS7. The ZR1 has the LS9.

  • It's not the same thing. That 100,000 tuning car wouldn't have the same comfort, the same looks, the same reliability. The Veyron is not a 1000bhp, 250mph car. It's a 1000bhp, 250mph Bugatti. And THAT is all the difference. If you want performance, there are sure better ways to spend your money, but the Veyron is another thing.
