Wow! The v0.1 video reminded me on Painkiller (in visual style and gameplay as well), but this version feels different: military shooter with a dash of parkour. I like them both :)
If I developed an engine, I'd implement following things: graphics, physics, sound I/O, scripting language, for example Lua or Python. BSP would be also great.
Shoot system, monster AI and other gameplay stuff can be scripted then.

if you added bloom to this level in particular, then it would be white. Don't over saturate it. Be sure to add only a little bloom.
