i think he is missing the point that it is not metallica's song, just a different arrangement of a dave mustaine song. they were a good band and all but they owe so much of their style to dave and he went on to be so much more original with his style after he left. they just stuck to a formula for three albums using scraps he left them... then they did the whole "Bob - where good bands go to die - Rock" thing and now they don't even know what metallica is anymore. most disappointing band ever.

True, Mustaine did launch Metallica into the "thrash world". And yes, Megadeth became a lot more original than Metallica.

But they're not desappointing, they had their own success, they're able to make great live performances, and they have a lot more stage presence than Megadeth. think that it makes up for their crappy albums.

Btw, Endgame is a lot better than Death Magnetic, which means that Megadeth is stillable to make great albums, while Metallica can't.

Kirk wrote almost all of RTL, along with james lars and cliff, but there's some credit for dave in it, in the tittle track. Check the album track list and see who wrote it.

But still, i could be wrong, and Dave used theese chords into his own song, stealing it from metallica.

The hardest thing for me is transitioning between palm muting the rhythm sections of songs and the transitioning between between doing a pedal note (palm muted open low E string) and then switching to a another string note.... mainly the intro of Master of Puppets. It feels so unnatural to take my hand of of the palm mute to a unmuted note so fast do you have any tips? Do you understand what I am referring to?

Never tried the intro on an electric guitar, gonna do that this afternoon.

On an acoustic one it's much easier if you don't use a pick (go for fingerpicking, it's faster...). However, I play it a bit different; the notes are the same but it's a bit easier for fingerpicking.

Summary: Your intro is wrong, re-listen to the song. you hit eBGD, the song goes eGBD. (string picking order).

At the part after the intro, you hit the 7th fretted power chord twice, in the song they hit the 7th fret once, and then hit the 9th fret power chord directly afterwards. though this may just be a difference in the 2 guitars playing.
