Most HBCU's have open enrollment policies. Which means if you really want to attend, they will find a way to make it possible. I would advise you to contact the School Directly. Speak with the Admissions office and explain your situation. Also contact Atlanta based Spelman Alumni Associations, as well as Sorority Alumni Chapters based in Atlanta. Im sure there are Hundreds of Spelman Graduates working in and around Atlanta that can guide you in the right direction. Good Luck!
I wish that I had chosen to go to HBCU back when I went to college. That was back in the late 70's early 80's when private elite white colleges were heavily recruiting African American students. All I remember was defending my place and my heritage in society. How sad that was to be a young woman in the minority during my formative years.
