I first heard this band about ,the jurassic shift album i think it was.I had never heard anything like this kind of music before. Goes to show you dont need vocals to have a great sounding band.the guitartist blew me away.I really like their sound and it is clean and precise. I'm a Dallas,Texas boy and I dont think anyone here besides me has heard of them before. To me they rank up there with Iron Maiden, another fantastic musically inclined band
This was one of the first OT songs I heard, and I still think it's one of the best, along with two others on this album - White Rhino Tea and Strangeitude. There more recent stuff isn't a patch on their original way of doing things.
By The Way......I happen to think that OT have some really excellent tracks...so have Hawkwind...They both also have tracks that you would not wish to hear ever again......
yea I know, but you can like other music too not just space rock like ozric's.
Dont get me wrong I do love the ozric's an I believe they never once made a bad album except for floating seeds remix album.
I like ozric tentacles, pink floyd, frank zappa and hawkwind an steve hillage and the doors, etc.
An I also listen too psy trance too like infected mushroom, astrix, synsun...an so on..an some ambient, dub, an jazz too an some pop like michael jackson an the beatles.
I dig psy and darkpsy infected mushroom isn't my idea of psy..If it is, those dudes are way to commercial for me..To me psy especially dark psy is a laser blasting sound scape done with digital
tools,And they need to get rid of there repetitiveness...It looks like you enjoy all styles of music, which is healthy especially if your in a band..
also last comment there's other 2 bands that I discovered though looking at ozric tentacles sites, HAWKWIND and STEVE HILLAGE...if you like the ozric's shit then look up em on this site youtube to hear some of there songs an see if you like hawkwind an steve hillage which their consider as space rock too but different from ozrics.
The Ozrics basically just built upon the band GONG's 'Radio Gnome Trilogy' masterpiece. That's basically all Ozric Tentacles is. Steve Hillage was a member of GONG for some time.
I'll pretty much listen too anything except for todays music like rap, hip hop an rnb, an all the main stream rock/pop like linkin park an coldplay...anyway besides the ozrics what else do you like?
Hard rock, classic rock, heavy metal, space rock, country, pop, rnb, rap, opera or whatever?
Everything is built upon something else. A cave man did not kick himself in the head and created keyboards, for example...Blues was built on slave fields as a changed form of African tribal songs. Rock came from blues. Progrock came from rock. Metal surfaced as a form of hard rock. Ozric Tentacles came to be as a result of something else prior to Ozric..It's just that simple. To dismiss it as an off-shot is pretty lame effort to devaluate the music. It is interesting music at least....
Ozric Tentacles are the best! I liked them ever sense 1990's, but never knew about electronica music till 2002 anyway I know its kind of odd but I'm not a huge eat static fan even though I love ozric tentacles.
Even the 2009 album called the yum yum tree is still good ass shit.
The band is some progressive instrumental rock music, with a bit of psychedelic.
I consider psy trance an goa trance more like weird music compare to this but isn't as good as ozric tentacles.
the ozrics are more like real music compare to techno, trance, psy trance, drum n bass, etc...because their are people using instruments in most part in the band.
Anyway I'm from United States of america, and besides the point.
I don't exactly know if this is true or not but I heard the band is moving to coloardo usa...thats why ther yum yum tree was delayed an was suppose to release in January 09, not may or april in UK.
Anyway know any info. bout em moving to us or not please reply.
There's a planet agog in the ether, live underslunky! Become the other swirly terminations, jurassic shift, the floors too yum yum tree. There is strangitude floating seeds. The hidden step arborescence sliding gliding worlds. Afterswish, pungent effulgent, spirals curious erpland corn in waterfall cities. Spaced out hyperspace pyramidion! The bits between the bits live ethereal cereal!
if you like this then listen to a band called SPHONGLE - fucked up! inpaticular a tune called behind closed eyes. and to be more exact, these guys are made up from the guys from EAT STATIC who are from Frome in somerset - check them out, techno with a twist! but please, listen to SPHONGLE!!
very cool video and great music ^^

Gahhh....the intro to this (which is not here) is the most mind altering piece of sound ever.
For people who haven't heard it, there is a point where you think that you are thinking backwards....and I'm not joking!
Trentreznor444 you have a duty to put the full tune on, otherwise I'll look like more of a drug monkey than I am!

@ConiferTreez...
"Hawkwind had nothing to do with OT's sound."
Have you EVER listened to any of Hawkwind's instrumental tracks ??
OT are undoubtedly influenced by H/W. There is no question. Anyone who sees no connection is just.....STUPID>

Regardless, Ozric Tentacles whole schtick is a tribute to the GONG in their prime.

These guys are amazing, i live in Somerset and my step-dad introduced them to me! Their old stuff is the best, especially Eternal Wheel!
I wish they did more live.
Did anyone know that this song got to number 10 in the UK charts?! How about that eh?!
