Beck is a joke. Only in America could Beck work in Journalism. He represents paranoid America. The things ive heard him say are just ridiculous. Its actually a reflection of how ignorant and stupid Americans are that they take Beck seriously. Shep is good, Beck is just a misguided fool. He knows nothing about current affairs or history its appalling that he is aloud to work on a show that tell the audience nothing except blind obscene paranoid patriotism. Its a joke. No wonder shep is ashamed.

i don't know if i saw him today or not... but i'm auditioning for model and i could have sworn i saw him at breakfast this morning. i think he's an agent for the modeling. i looked up shepard smith and it looks like him and his company is in LA. im like whoaa i saw him in person! that must be pretty cool.. but maybe it's not him i don't know.. it did.

I get the sense that, given the tone of the conversation, this vitriolic exchange is actually a veiled act between Beck and Shep. Shep knows Beck is a wolf in sheep's skin, and Beck knows that Shep knows this, so they simultaneously vent against the other while sharing in the satisfaction that only a truly secret inside joke can bring. Because - let's face it - Beck is a joke and the only people who haven't gotten the punchline is his audience. Brilliant.
But that's just my theory.
